There's no signs road lights or anything, you notice the ditch when you are about 5 feet from it. I did slow down but it wasn't enough

I noticed the plastic cover at the bottom frame has a gap compared to the passenger side. Can someone confirm this for me by looking at their car.
Both pictures are from drivers side

@zman: I'd definitely report it to whatever agency takes care of, correction, uses taxpayers' money NOT to take care of this road.

Though, it seems more like a permanent thing, not a pothole that just showed up recently. So they probably know about it and have a legal way not to pay for damaged cars, otherwise they'd have fixed it. Still, I'd call them asap, and you did good job documenting it.

Well, @zman ....... here is what my left (drivers) side looks like.

It appears you do have a gap there ......but I still wouldn't worry about it.

(OCD is not something I suffer from ...... :sigh:)

I agree with you.
I have video recording on my dashcam. You think i can use it for insurance to fix my bumper and check everything out?

How fast were you going? (Not a slam just an important factor)

No signs at all. Just a speed limit one.

I was probably doing no more than 20-25 mph since it was a curvy road.
Im guessing that was probably the speed limit also.

Just wondered since if you go the insurance route and the dash cam shows some outrageous (to them) speed they would use it against you. Ya, from the looks of the road 25 or so is the prudent speed at the best of times.

zman 05-19-2016 01:09 PM

@Tcoat what would you do if this happened to you?
