HKS Suction R Intake question?

Hey guys,

I've been a fan of HKS for a looong time and I've had most of their turbos, oil coolers, dogteeth trannies and so on on other projects but I've researched on this and found nearly nothing. Anyone tried the Suction R mushroom filter air intake that HKS sells?

Pros, cons, do I need the whole kit or just the mushroom filter, etc.?

Thanks

theres a video around some place where it was dynod. No gain in torque or hp and its expensive. youre paying for the racing suction plate

That's sold as a complete kit. It's a nice kit no doubt but the price tag is way up there.

It looks like it would suck a lot of hot engine bay air in.

EDIT: I bet it sounds damn good tho.

Price is a bit up yes but the number of pros of this kit is nowhere near its cons.

Thought of that too! and yes I'm pretty sure such a short intake pipe would give it a deep throaty sound when revved.

Haha, well, I'd give them A for the effort of making that intake pipe and the plate.

Thanks y'all, think I'll go looking for another CAI.

The racing suction needs a tune to make any HP. Out of the box it bumps HP by 1.

The Premium suction makes 3-4 hp without a tune. But that's only a tube replacement so it doesn't look as nice.

Gonna revive this
I just purchased the intake system, if anyone is interested.
I understand its a 7 year late reply LOL
I am curious if there will be any gains, I got it used for a good price.

What method will you use to validate if it got gains or not, or by how much?

Do you have dragy or a vbox or dyno?
