any one has Transmission Rattle like me ?

:brokenheart:
I noticed this issue since I bought the car and driving when the AC is on. The transmission will rattle with the shift nob for couple seconds after slow down my speed to 10 -15 mph . Is that common ?

When the AC is off. No issue at all.:burnrubber:

I've had the rattle when the A/C is on and off. The mechanics say its "normal" clutch chatter for the FR-S / BRZ. There are a bunch of threads on this.

IMO, get it to the shop and have them document it. In the event of a failure/TSB - at least you'll have a paper trail of the issue. Just my $0.02.

Do you have a MT or AT ... ??

My MT doesn't rattle.

I actually noticed this pretty early on (accompanied with an idle dip). The service guy at toyota told me the same as above, that it's normal and just a by product of the condenser being on....but I don't know how i feel about that.

EDIT: i drive an MT

My AT doesn't have a rattle

If yours is manual transmission, you're in 2nd gear at 10-15 mph (1250-1800 RPM), and step on the gas to accelerate, then yes, it will rattle. But it should happen regardless of your AC being on or off.

I need to add something. The rattle happens when I am shift to Neutral .

This happens to me. Climbing into somewhat steep driveways, I slow down but I don't want to downshift into 1st while the car is moving so I keep it in 2nd and go really slow and when I try to give it a bit of gas, I hear that rattle. Is this the issue you're talking about? If so, I'm concerned. I only got my car a 10 days ago.

Mine never rattles in neutral. Maybe you are talking about direct injection noise. There is a thread about it in issue warranty section of this forum.

Here

That's normal for this type of clutch. Nothing to worry about.

Care to explain to a newbie like me what "this type of clutch" means?

Normal.. Clutch chatter in these cars are normal at low rpm.. The drop in revs with the AC on will also make the engine vibrate and studder as the revs drop too low and then pick back up.
