Sounds to me like the traction control. If you are going down hill and turning, tap the brakes, the traction control will most likely engage because you are loading up the front suspension and removing weight from the back, which in turn will rotate the back end around.

Drove the car some more today and nothing out of the ordinary. I'm putting this one to rest. I just hate hearing things...
