yeah seems fishy

if i wanted to sell an item, last thing i'd do is post pics of the totalled car it came from

A lot of auto recycle shops do that. They post up one item with a picture of the car and their sign in the background so you know they have a wrecked vehicle on their lot. Then if you need a part other than the one listed you will contact them and they will sell it to you directly saving themselves eBay listing and sales fees.
