On a side note, does anyone know if this is covered under warranty?

You could try this DIY.

And I doubt it's a warranty item.

Post some pics. I have a generic weather mat picked up from Walmart or somewhere, I forget. Just make sure you test the mat to make sure it doesn't slide around, you don't want it getting under your pedals.

It would be nice if there was a fix for this for those of us who autocross as all floormats have to be removed from the car while at the sight.

I'm just gonna buy new mats down the road...

There are aftermarket choices, I have a set from Spoonz Auto (black with red binding) that I got on eBay. They are much more rugged than stock and hold up well. Also cut same as stock and come with the locking fittings. They were $99 and free shipping. Scion also makes an all-weather mat set for the front now. They are very nice, soft and rubbery but rugged. I like them better than the plastic Weathertech and they cost a lot less. I think mine were about $60.

I'm in the process of buying a used FR-S with ~10k miles on it, sight unseen. I would imagine the carpet in it is in great shape, but I can't say for sure. I will sell it to you if you're interested. Floor mats too, if'n ya want 'em.

buy yourself the all season rubber mat. I have the one with FRS logo and it looks great, no wear, just hose it down when it's dirty.

I personally leave the oem winters rubber mats in all year long. Easy to clean.
