I like how the RA costs 6.8 more than the RC, the R costs 6.625/6.8 more than the G and the S costs .175/.3 more than the GT.

I haven't taken the time to compare the models but assuming they are close I'd be happy if Subaru tried staying that competitive in the North American market.

Subaru has HID standard across the range while 86 RC and G don't.

Funny I noticed the Subaru BRZ( S GRADE ) ¥280万円
is priced lower than the GT86 ( LIMITED ) ¥297万円

and thats like 1000 dollars of difference.

This is probably a dumb question but how does it work exactly? I thought at first that 305.0 would mean 305,000 Yen, but does it mean 3,050,000 Yen? And is it the 2 last characters that denote that somehow?

GT limited has aero kit, leather/suede seats standard while both are optional on BRZ S grade.

86 has 4 grades while BRZ has 3 + options.

You multiply the numbers by 10,000 to get their value in Yen. The last two characters do indeed denote that.

the first symbol is "han" and the last symbol is "yen"

"han" means ten thousand (10,000)

it is the equivalent of our use of the letter "k" to denote one thousand (1,000)

the interesting difference is that in north america we do not have anything between thousand and million. We have single digits, teens, hundreds, thousands and then straight to millions. While in japan, once you get to 10,000 you have a seperate notation for counting using tens of thousands.

so for us, 10,000 is "ten thousand" while for the japanse it is just "han"

50,000 is 50k or fifty thousand while japanse is "go han"

etc.

Would someone be so kind to compare that to other Subaru vehicles and Toyota cars so we can get some form of guesstimate :)?

Small correction, it's "man" not "han" ;)

Legacy GT 2.5 3,328,500 - makes the brz top trim manual comparatively 26,512

Basic Legacy 2.5i 2,205,000 - makes he brz top trim manual 25,327

WRX STI with the 2.5 3,223,000 - makes the brz top trim manual 29,546

Impreza 2.0i 1,858,500 - makes the brz top trim manual comparatively 26,292

I like my comparisons with the German prices a lot better... they put the brz at 19 -23k instead of 25-30k
