Stock BRZ
Just curious, are there any owners out there that actually like their BRZ stock? Most of you guys just HAVE to mod it out. Am I the only one on earth that actually likes the BRZ the way it is like it was intended? Which is a fun to drive affordable sports car. (Of course I won't deny I want an exhaust and maybe a S/C in the future :iono:)

Stock at the moment, will definitely get new wheels and use OEM for Winter. It looks pretty good stock IMO, OEM wheels are quite attractive looking compared to other cars, lacking is probably the exhaust tips, they are very small! Changing the amber lights (map light, passenger, license plate, etc.) to white is necessary, makes it 1000x better looking, no excuses since you can have it all (map, passenger, license, trunk, side marker, bright reverse) for $33~ at dealextremes.

I fully intended on keeping mine 100% stock but just added an exhaust because it needed a little something more sound-wise. Other than that I don't plan on touching anything because I love the car as is and more importantly my warranty :)

Pretty much stock, but that's more for autocross purposes more than anything.

I'm adding the auto dim rear view mirror with home link .....but that's a factory option.
I'm pretty sure the stock tires will get, well, tired before they wear out. They re adequate to the car but not enjoyable to drive on. I'm pretty sure the only real fault in this chassis resulted from the desire to create a car that will drift with only 151 lb ft of torque. Can't say I'm interested in that "feature" as it really spoils the car's otherwise very sweet handling. Snap oversteer is not on my list of enjoyable chassis characteristics and it is a bog slow way to drive. I'm pretty sure a set of Michelin Supersports in 225/45x17 size will cure this. Otherwise, I'll be looking for a smaller rear roll bar! |
I believe all cars look the best when they are stock form as far as body wise. But i also believe that wheels and balanced drop is a must for all sports car.

I just have a catback and front sway bar. No desire for anything else. If anything, it'll be tuning for e85.

anyone think subaru gives the car wheel gap to let the aftermarket make more money onthis car?
beemers now days have no gap oem why cant the japanesr do it Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 4 Beta |
snap oversteer does not happen in the brz. i see it used so liberally its lost its meaning.
snap oversteer refers to the snap back you experience when overcorrecting for initial oversteer or very fast uncontrollable oversteer from lifting while cornering at the limit. the brz doesnt have those tendencies stock Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 4 Beta |

I like how the car looks stock, except maybe the exhaust tips. But the main reason my car is still stock is because I don't have to budget to mod it right now.

The only performance mods I'm planning on doing are new tires, STi springs, and a drop-in air filter, but only when they wear out. Everything else will be OEM+ cosmetic stuff like an STi shift knob, gurney flap, and start button...maybe exhaust tips. No more than that though.

The ones who mod it out are the ones who post build threads and comment on each others and which spoilers are best. The majority will be left stock but you won't see that here because we're all "enthusiasts", there's no point in posting "eff yeah! mine's still the same as the day I bought it!"
Leaving mine stock until I decide to make it a racecar many years down the road. |
