TRD exhaust resonator delete?

Is this the most dumb question ever? My buddy has an STI with cosworth exhaust and now that the resonator has been removed, the sound is just awesome. Anyone done this with the TRD exhaust?

Thanks

roswell huh? im here in ABQ. but im not sure. I have the trd exhaust also, but the way I see it, is they placed it there for a reason. if somebody gets rid of it, it can either screw up the performance aspect and or sound quality.

yea i don't know how it would change the performance, but i'm thinking i may like the sound change

Someone please be the first and post results. I don't want to do that to my brand new FR-S just yet lol.

where is the resonator on the trd exhaust? is it in the back near tips or ar the beginning of the pipe that kind of looks like a small cat?

Keep in mind your buddies STI has a turbo which will act like a muffler/resonator on it's own. Without a resonator you might find the TRD exhaust gets raspy.

IMO, leave the resonator, removing it won't make your exhaust sound like a turbo engine with a UEL manifold at all.

What i'm hoping for is to gain a crackle like sound when downshifting or letting of the gas and some added volume. Been searching around everywhere I can think of and don't know if removing the resonator will do either because of the cats.

Considered this idea also, but worried it may become to raspy. Ended up going to with a catted Perrin front pipe. Got what I wanted, louder and a new found growl.

Just replace the front pipe. :)

@lazyluka catted or not catted front pipe?
