Element Tuning FRS Battling the Corvettes at VIR

Element Tuning FRS with Hydra EMS and FA20 Club 60 trim take on the Corvettes in the Whelen US TT Championship. We've been fighting overheating issues so when so when the Hydra EMS puts the car in "limp" mode it only makes 320 whp.

As you can see we are super fast in the turns but a little....a lot slow on the straights compared to the Z06s.

Thanks,
Phil Grabow

Impressive how much faster the Corvettes are in the straights, even with your FR-S running the 60 trim.

Yeah the Z06 in front is about 400 whp and the next one was a C6 so much more than my 320 whp. If the engine wasn't over heating at that race I had up to 360 whp and when I went to 900cc I had 400 whp and then it would be more even.

60 trim with enough injector and boost should get near 500 whp though.

Well the car practically burned to the ground at Ultimate Track Car Challenge this past weekend so it will be awhile.

What rear fender thing is that?

amazing how the FRS catches up on the turns

Operator head gasket error. LOL! You can only overheat an engine so many times....in this case 12 races before your luck runs out. We don't know for sure but I suspect a blown head gasket, hydrolock, rod through the block, and then a massive engine fire.

From a Skykine...Chaser Aero Carbon Fiber. Just happens to fit near perfectly with the body lines.

so phil do you think that the heat issues are turbo related or compression related?

i.e.
low compression pistons solve the issues?
supercharger kit may create less heat?

That sucks, but it sounds like you went one too many times to the well.

Fun video to watch :)
