Looks gay.

Just kidding -- best choice for our cars :respekt:

Symmetrical 07-21-2013 06:40 AM

omg looks so juicy, 19s... If only performance wasn't a sacrifice. As in too much grip, it loses the soul of driving an 86. But damn that looks so good.

No Limit Motorsport 07-21-2013 09:40 AM

Very nice. SP Spec is rare. I have sold probably 15-20 sets of these wheels, never SP Spec.

white_knight 07-22-2013 01:47 AM

How long did you wait for these? I should be receiving mine in about 2 weeks, after a 3 month wait!

Overland'n'5thGEN 07-22-2013 02:15 AM

Kinda look like the 5 Axis wheels you had before, from what I remember.

Looks good, I like the white highlights.

did you order them at the same time as the wheels? that's a long time for them to be backordered if so.
the reason i asked was because i see a lot of folks leave the center caps off, and was wondering if it was a clearance issue in the back with the hub or something (some wheel center caps won't fit because of that).

no, i just ordered the day after I received my wheels lol.

MVJ1975 07-22-2013 04:54 PM

Looks fantastic! Personally, I'd go red lugnuts with the red caps on a red car. Of course, I went blue lugnuts/blue caps on my blue car, and will soon be painting the brake calipers blue...

There aren't any clearance issues with the 57xtreme caps. They sit over top of the center hole and are hollow inside. I assume the people that run without them either didn't like the look or didn't want to spend the $30ish per cap additional cost.

updated OP for better quality photos :)

Wow, so only a 1" drop then? Must be the 19s filling out the wells that give the illusion of a lower drop.

I have the 18s on order, to go with my Pro Kit.

suaveflooder 07-24-2013 04:00 AM

Damn. Those look GREAT! I am honestly loving 19" wheels on these cars!

yea only 1" drop. 18s 57xtreme too? did u order the standard spec or SP Spec like mine?

RehabJeff86 07-24-2013 04:21 AM

gorgeous!!

white_knight 07-24-2013 05:32 AM

Yep, 57Xtreme, matt graphite. Not a fan of the white pockets, so got the standard spec.

Very first post.

switchlanez 07-25-2013 04:58 AM

I voted red lugs. Generally, I think it will look too busy having 3 different colors among the wheels, center caps, and lug nuts (but black lug nuts are passable). Either make the lugs match the wheel or the center cap. Generally, if the lugs match the color of your car, I'd like the center cap to either match the color of the car also or the color of the wheel or just go with no center caps if they don't match.

Very nice ride and photography. Those look like STI front lip/rear spats (if I'm not mistaken?). Do you have any plans for side skirts?

thanks - yes, STi front lip and spats. i held off from the side skirts because i'd rather go a bit more subtle than the STi ones - something like the chargespeed maybe. the STi side skirts look great on your car (as well as dsomegax's), though - wasn't sure about my colour.

love your setup! Do you experience n e rubbing when turning? or that was eliminated because u dropped ur car on springs?

dokterdewe 07-25-2013 11:59 AM

what a setup you got there! really gorgoeus...... i bet it cost much :(

no rubbing anywhere at full lock - that was a main concern for me when deciding on the setup. as for the clearance difference between springs and coilovers, i don't know.

Nice setup. I am going to install the same wheels on my 86 GTS. Whats the ride like with the 265s on the rear ? Not too understeery ?

frankly, i haven't noticed. i'm not an experienced enough driver, or i'm not driving the car hard enough to notice any understeer. it goes where i want it to go.

timox 05-13-2014 03:22 AM

Awesome.

Yeah I was hoping to increase rear wheel grip myself but wasn't sure if 265s where going to be too much rear grip. But sounds like its ok. I'm not that experienced of a driver either having nearly all FWD cars before so RWD is a bit scary in the wet for me with the stock wheels.

Already spun out once in the wet and thought right, need wider tires on the back. lol

you can still break the 265's loose if you want to on purpose, but i definitely got the increased grip i was looking for. people buy this car for different purposes, and i wanted more grip all-around - i'm not looking to drift around corners - just stick better on curves. i drove a 1978 280Z for almost 30 years, so a RWD sports car is pretty much what i'm used to.

timox 05-19-2014 01:28 AM

Just one other question. Did you need hub centering rings for these also ? Whats the hub bore on these wheels if you know that would be great ?

Thanks.
