so I made a trip by Target today and was able to find another fr-s, this time with the paint apps fully good and well since the first one I had bought only had half a logo on the front

While there I also happened upon an awesome collection of exotics I had to have as well as a '63 Aston DB5 which made my jaw drop when I saw it...

So, I'm taking the wife out tonight, we'd like to go to Raleigh. Any recommendations on a moderate price good dinner and a nice club/bar/venue?

Rum Runners is always a good time in my book for a bar. It tends to get packed early though.

^no offense, but I'm guessing that Wonderbar is a bit mature for a place like that.

Depends on what type of foods you like. For Indian I really like Blue Mango on Glenwood. For Italian downtown Caffe Luna (I'll be there tonight actually). Cowfish in North Hills is OUTSTANDING if you like sushi with some good fusion options (beef mainly). Sitti has some great Lebanese, J Betski's for German food, and finally Second Empire is always a winner, but can be somewhat expensive.

As to nightlife, there's Zinda, London Bridge, Raleigh Times, Busy Bee (& The Hive), Fox Liquor Bar. Also Solas, Noire & 606. Depends what you're into - chill bar or upbeat lounge.

Kinda depends on the mood. We can do immature debauchery but are just looking for someplace fun. There are several trips planned to Raleigh so we don't mind trying a few different places.

Something upbeat, maybe some dancing, someplace I won't have to carry my .45 acp.

We are planning on getting up there around 9-930

Is there an "area" that has all the clubs, like a central place I could park?

Also, how's it looking on the car after the demo derby at vir?

Rum Runners is definitely fun, but yeah... it's does full up with college age people quickly. I guess I should of qualified that I haven't been there in probably ~10 years myself so any advice from me about Raleigh is highly likely to be very outdated :-)

@Wonderbar, if you park around the Fayetteville Street or Wilmington Street areas (this is the center of downtown) all the parking decks are free, so plenty of easy parking. For a bit of dancing in that area I'd recommend Zinda, The Architect, The Hive, and possibly Coglin's (80s bar).

For dancing a bit over on Glenwood South (the southern section of Glenwood Ave) you have Solas, 606, Noire and prob a few other places I'm failing to mention. Parking over that ways is a bit more difficult but at 9-930 you could probably find street parking, or pay to park in the deck at 510 Glenwood.

Cowfish is in North Hills, a large complex north of downtown (6 Forks exit off 440). Nightlife there would be Sparians (upscale bowling alley that might have dancing), Fox & Hound, World of Beers, The Yardhouse.

I'd say go to the middle of downtown (fayetteville/wilmington st's). That would give you the most options.

Car's doing "okay". It's driveable, and this afternoon I'm dropping it off at a body shop to find out how much it would cost to fix. To be completely honest I'm kinda hoping it's totaled.

It was on their Facebook page, filled up pretty quickly. Was a blast though, my first time on a track and ended up being the fastest car in the novice group. Was running down an e36 m3, mustang gt, 300z and 2 miatas. Also had 1 1/2 days driving in the NE GA mountains, this car is a twistie ANIMAL. So much fun and the EBC red pads and RBF 600 worked wonderfully, no fade in the mountains and was able to drive pretty much at the limit for about 4-5 laps before experiencing any fade on the track. Brake ducts will be the next upgrade as they apparently negate that almost completely.
