FIAT 500

anyone driven one?

if my finances don't pan out for the FRS/BRZ i'll have to suck it up and get some shitty car for daily use until my wife gets a job.

so i was thinking of either a Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, or the Fiat 500 (MINI is too fucking baller when bought new)

anyone here have any firs thand experience with the Fiat? It's pretty much a chrysler, no?

Never drove any of the cars you listed but why not add the Honda Fit to your list? Its always getting top marks in this class.

Driven a Panda, but not a 500; however, I have driven the Fiesta - as I had one as a car hire - and thought it was great. If I needed a new commuter car/city car, I'd happily have one of those :-)

Used isnt an option for you? New cars cost ya.

i want a 0kms, factory warrenty, and 100% history of what happened and didn't happen to the car.

There is a 12 year old VW and a 10 year old accord at my parents place that was bought new, the cars are still running strong.

when i got my subaru, i bought it used, i though i got a good deal. After all the cash i put into it i could have been driving in a brand new wrx or something.

i used to have a garage to work on my cars, now i don't. So i need a car that is small, good on gas, and won't give me any headaches for 5-6 years.

i still want the FRS, but when it comes down for the hammer time the price might kill me. (i have a feeling it will be well over 32 grand (cad) after taxes and all the other fun stuff)

I test drove a 500. There was something about it I just didn't like but can't put my finger on. I used to drive a Smart Car which I loved so it's not the size. Just something felt off about it.

Hyundai offers good value if you want a new car.

How does the seating feel? is it pretty low to the ground? Just looking at the car it makes me think the seating would feel like sitting on a bar stool when turning. I'm thinking of the time I drove a PT cruiser and couldn't believe how "high up" it felt.

not really, depends on the car.

She likes the Honda CRZ but not Civic, she likes the Mini but not the Smart.

she likes the RX7 but not the RX8. She likes the first gen miatas (with the flip lights) but thinks all the new ones are ugly.

hard to please!

Sat in a few 500's and they all felt very cheap and their reliability is suspect, also if they were that great they would be selling more than 2 a month. I would recommend the yaris. The fiestas interior is very tight and claustrophobic for me and im thin and love small cars. But try each out as cars a so personal. I recommend the Yaris or Honda Fit

Will she be driving it mostly? CRZ isn't a bad option if you are ok with its limitations (not great mpg, not great of a sporty car; kinda mediocre at both).

What about a used first gen Miata? I know you want new, but you could get a nicely used Miata for cheap?

How about that new Hyundai Elantra? There's a coupe and a 5 door GT version (dunno how GT it is LOL). They're both CHEAP!
