Eibach R2 for AutoX?

Ok here is the deal...

I'm on V3s right now with no complaints, but I still don't have camber adjustment and camber plates were my next mod. I have a chance to get an amazing deal on some nearly new Eibach R2s. My understanding is these have camber adjustments built in.

Is this enough of an upgrade over the V3 to pull the trigger? With how cheap I can get them for plus the money I was going to spend on camber plates PLUS what I can get for my used V3s I think I'd be sitting about even. I don't know anything about the R2s. Anyone else using these on their STX prep?

TIA!

Any comments?!? I need to pull the trigger super soon.

I haven't heard of any STX twins with the Eibach R2s. This just means you get to be the first guinea pig, which may not be a bad thing. It's worth a try.

They look like they should be very good, component-wise.

Much depends on the internal valving. I would advise to ask your local re-valver to see if they can work on them to get them set up for auto-x.

As a monotube, it should be capable of a very good range of usable adjustment on both compression and rebound...if the valving is right.

Legit on the track, a little noisy on the street but I suspect good performance for auto-x too

With the amount of adjustment that is built into them, after tuning them a bit they should work good for you.

Look at the supension forum thread, there have been a lot of complaints with the early off the shelf ones and I think most of the guys in there have sent theirs back to EIbach for revalving, different springs, etc.

Thanks, I'm not looking to create a headache! The ones I'm looking at have two sets of 400lb springs, one set of 350 and one set of 275lb springs.

X10000.. Mark is great and he knows what hes talking about. And he will try to help you our as far as making the correct decision depending on what your goals are.

Such a great company to work with. They actually redesigned the R1's and R2's from customer feed back. They even took the kits that they sold back to their facility, to add the updates for those customers at no charge possibly just freight.

This is what made me pull the trigger on the R1's and i received the first set of the revised batch yesterday. Hopefully these work out! And i can vouch for their knowledgeable customer service team.

Since the KWs are slotted, you technically do have camber adjustment already. Unless you mean to say that you are already maxed out using the slots and need more camber.

IMO if you already have V3's just get adjustable upper mounts, they're arguably better coilovers than the R2's.

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna stay on the KWs. I'm happy and I need to not have a "grass is greener" mentality because it might not be.

I've never considered the V3 a "performance" oriented coilover. I saw V3s are a good street coilover. The R2s are a little bit harsher on the street but offer the adjustment range. Street vs track. twin-tube vs monotube. apples to oranges.
