Mount today without remove primary cat. It is easy, only a long work on 10mm wrench for removing gear panel, repair and 14 mm wrench to remove it. It takes 60 minutes including set up on jackstands. Centre nut is 17mm.

Less vibration driving on "Safari roads" and/on fast gear engagement.
Good!

Noob Question for you!

I have been looking at this mod for a while but I can't get a clear understanding of what this does could you help me out? As you might have found out I'm new to modding a car all I usually just do cosmetics but when I got my FRS I wanted more.

Thanks

The OEM transmission bushing has quite a bit of open space in it and uses a pretty soft rubber. This stiff polyurethane bushing will fill the voids in the factory bushing to help firm up the transmission mount. This is a great mod for someone who does not want an aftermarket transmission mount, but they want to remove some of the slop from the factory bushing.

Hope this helps. :)
Thanks,
Rick

Noob question here:

this is the same as the whiteline's right?

as far as removing the slop, is there any real gains from installing this?

thanks

I installed this bush, being the yellow compound rubber it is the softest variant they do, they do a black one but from what i've heard these very high durometer. But from what i've felt its does absolutly sod all. there is no improvement to the gear change up only more transmission whine.
but just an amendment to the supplied instructions, if you leave the gear box support in place, which is easily done I just used a trolley jack and a block of wood to lift the transmission slightly i mean very little, just enough to take the tension off the bush. However the bush will not fit from the front (ie the engine side) i struggled and struggled for a goot half hour trying to pry it in, whacking it with a dead blow etc, getting covered in all thet green slime that subaru have covered the transmission and engine with but it would not go in fully it stopped 5-6mm proud, checking the bush it looks like there is some contours from where it is moulded that impeed fittment from this direction, but take off the exhaust bracket from the rear and the bush slips in easily from the rear.
For the sake if another £20 i might try the black bush and see how it is as i cant feel any difference at all with the yellow one. but my car has only done 5000 miles so perhaps the OEM bush hasnt softened up yet.

This will do less for shift feel and more for stopping the transmission from moving around a lot. Go over a big bump with your hand on the shifter and you can feel the tail of the transmission moving ALL over the place.
