Pioneer Premium audio random issue

Hey guys,

Was going to post this in the audio section but thought that i might have more luck here.

Does anyone else have issues with the Pioneer Premium deck not randomizing songs properly?

I have it set to randomize all tracks/folders on my USB stick. It will play a couple random tracks, then start playing what seems to be the same 10 songs in a row. i'll skip ahead past those songs, and it will be fine for a while. Sure enough, next time I drive the car, it will play a couple random tracks then go back to the same 10 songs! Its driving me crazy.

Any ideas?

I have what seems to be a similar issue.. there seems to be like a handful of songs that get repeated very often on random.

i'm fairly sure this is appicable on all the premium pioneer head units we got. random play isn't really random since it plays the same songs over and over. Even if you randomly select a random song and go back to useing the random mode it'll evenutally go back to the same FRIKKING SONGS.....

Wow. I can't believe Pioneer managed to screw up random play. Seems pretty simple.

I'm going to call them on monday and see if they have a fix.

I have the limited BRZ trim btw

Solution (not a fix): put your music on your phone, connect with BT, and just shuffle it on your phone

I have another issue with folder sorting. I listen to my thumb drive and I have specifically named each folder in the order of "01,02,03, etc." However, the player would always display the folders in a random order. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

Assuming you guys are talking about Pioneer AVIC deck that comes with BRZs?

I use a microSD card instead of a thumbdrive and have not experienced this problem at all. Not really a fix, but a workable solution?

For some reason, according to the manual, the deck will display albums/folders in the order they are added to the USB stick.

Again, something that makes no sense on a brand new $500 deck.

Thanks for the suggestion but the issue is with the FR-S Pioneer premium deck. No micro SD slot unfortunately.

I guess while we're talking about the strange things this deck does.

Anyone been able to successfully use album art from a USB drive? I've tried manually adding ID3 v2.3 tags like the manual suggests but still no art.

This is exactly what I've been trying to do. All my songs on my USB stick have album art, and yet it never shows up on the head unit, even when I've turned on the album art in settings.

No luck here, manually adding via windows media player, winamp, windows explorer & a freeware app called "Mp3tag". ~_~ anyone else?
