Plastic Cover for Engine came off?
 

Hi,

Y'know how there's that little square/rectangle-ish piece of plastic that sits on top of the engine and has "TOYOTA D-4S" and "Boxer SUBARU" lettered on it?

One of the snaps that holds it down broke so the whole cover came off, there's nothing really exposed under it, I presume it was put there more for aesthetics, but has this happened to anyone else?

This is my first case of reading such a problem. I sugguest getting a new one under warranty? Unless you broke it trying to do something...

One of my tabs snapped when I was removing it to get to one of the hoses underneath. I haven't bothered to replace it yet, but it is definitely just aesthetic.

The front tab is definitely easy to break since you can't really see how it attaches the first time you remove it. I cracked mine a little by bending it, but I still remains in place. If you haven't touched that piece, then I would guess someone else has removed it and broke that tab.

You can easily get it replaced under warranty, it's all aesthetic anyway or you could spend a little money on one of the cool aftermarket painted ones. :)

Hahaha I had no idea it even came off until I opened up the hood to admire the insides and noticed that it was lying against the tubes int he back (yeah the front snap thingy broke...)

I actually havent seen any aftermarket ones.. anyone care to link?
