Official street racing thread. All street racing goes here!

Well didnt see a thread like while searching so decided to make one. Tell any of your street racing stories from any vehicle. Ill start with some stories with my STi.

In my STi the only engine mod i had was a catless stage 2 dp and protune, so it was fairly stock powerwise. The last and final street race i had with the car was the night before i sold it. I finished watching iron man 3 with some friends and it was around 12 am. Now because im selling the car the next day, it was turned to stock. Stock exhaust, and stock ECU by accessport. Im waiting at a stop light to go green so i can launch it because the on ramp is a pretty tight curve that you can hit around 100mph and make the rear end kick out a little which is always fun ;). After doing that im on the highway, and i encounter a 350z. As i get next to him, i downshift to 5th and as soon as i hear him down shift we go for it. Were neck and neck until we hit about 100 and i start pulling on him, and i shut it down around 120 with him a while back. It was like a going away present to my self with the car lol.

street racing is pointless because you never know how seriously the other person takes it and it proves nothing.

go to a track, post times, compare with other serious people, get humbled.

oh i autox and track at laguna seca, but doesn't mean that i wont street race if the roads are empty. It's just for fun for that 4 seconds. Now in the FRS on the other hand, I wouldn't even try to street race since it's so slow on straights lol.

why do you need to race and not just "drive fast"

i drive fast all the time but if someone wants to double the speed limit i'll always back off. Around here a ticket for over 50 gets your licence suspended, a 10,000 fine, and your car impounded. No thanks.

I wish that was the case here in the US to reduce all the idiots on the roads.
