Question: Is Rebadge Legal (Toyota emblem on FR-S)
I am in New Jersey and I am thinking to rebadge my FR-S.
I know it is definitely illegal if you put a subaru emblem on a Scion. Because one of my friends rebadge a Lamb emblem on his Altima and was pulled over. It was a sad story and he paid a lot. But what about Toyota emblem on FR-S? Is it legal to put a Toyota emblem on a Scion? Can anyone give me a reliable answer? Just do not want to be pulled over. Thank you guys. |
I'm pretty sure on my title and insurance it says Toyota as the make. Even on my temp tag it said Toyota you should be fine it's like putting Honda emblems on an Acura you get pulled over show them where it says Toyota

It is going to be a state by state matter. It all depends on where you live and what laws are set in place, no matter how ridiculous they are. However, the fact that re-badging in certain state is considered illegal is quite ridiculous. Not a surprise though since there are unconstitutional laws being implemented more than ever...good luck.

My insurance card says toyota scion frs. So you'd probably be okay with a toyota badge. Subaru would be a little more tricky i would think, unless you wanted to start pulling off all the interior parts that say subaru on it. Its your roll of the dice though.

My FR-S is not a Maserati, it only plays one in Facebook!! I got at least three comments, "dude wtf? how did you afford that Maserati?!?". Lol

I named my Grey Hound Maserati... will I be sued?? That's stupid. Sooo people who wear a Ferrari shirt and don't own a Ferrari should be arrested then. haha.

So I get pulled over and the officer says, uhem, your regs/vins says scion, but you have Toyota badges, and I pop the hood and he sees Subaru plastered or stamped everywhere, I'm like dude pass that stuff your smokin' over here I think your seeing shit...
