New Zealand (Or AU) - Body Kits available?

Hi Folks,

New to the site and not yet a 86 owner but looking to put in an order for a new 86GT in Grey in the near future. Before placing an order with Toyota for the car I am wondering which options to get from factory, one of these ebeing the Aero kit.

I am unsure about the large rear factory wing and reckon teh boot lip spoiler looks better on the car and stops it looking like all the other boy racer cars out there. I have asked Toyota in Whangarei and Albany for a price on teh Aero kit but with just the TRD boot spoiler but as yet no pricing.

I do however see the many different kist avilable overseas and so am wondering which we can get here in New Zealand?

Has anyone got any suppliers they can put me in touch with that will deal with NZ customers please??

Cheers all

Dave...

Dave,

We can supply you with any kits you need however please keep in mind that the freight cost on these kits equal in value almost as much as the kit themselves. I have sent body kits for other cars to NZ and it was around $1300 - $1800 for the freight. I Hope you find what you are looking for locally but if not I am here as an option.

Jacky

@blgdave you NEED to talk to Peter or Nick at North Shore Totota.

They supply all of us 86/BRZ club owners in New Zealand with the TRD kit and also have suppliers for the 5 axis and a heap of other kits.

You should also joining the NZ owners club at www.86brz.co.nz as you will get heaps of advice/suggestions on what is available in New Zealand. It's a closed facebook group but I can have you added it you put in a request on the site.

Can't fault your colour choice - you'll love it!

.

Thanks folks and food for thought. I will contact North Shore today and see what they have to say. Seems to be hard getting answers from elsewhere, especially when you consider I am looking to buy a new car from them?? Will give the NS boys a shout.

I will look into the NZ site today also and see about requesting to join up.

Jacky, your offer is much appreciated and I will consider this also if you supply kits otherwise not available to us here in NZ. Just to be different. I asume you are quoting US$ also? Maybe we could organise a group buy of a few products and get a small shipping container, as there have been cheap for me in the past. Well, from the Uk anyway.

As an additonal note, also very keen to look at power gain mods such as Turbo or Blower? I really liked the way the car drove, but it felt a tad slow to me??

Cheers again all

Dave

Cool. Peter and especially Nick at NST are the bomb. They give club discounts too so make sure you join up.

I have found their prices are a bit more than overseas but once you take the freight cost and possible GST at the border into account they are right on the money.

They supplied all my TRD kit - and I ticked every option under the sun.

Peter and Nick are both members of the club so once you're in there you can message them or post for them regarding options.

Some of the members have done heaps of research and we even have a couple of Japanese members that can translate Japanese sites if Chrome won't do it.

Another recommendation for North Shore Toyota - I drive a BRZ and have them do all my non-scheduled service/modification work. Great advice, service and pricing.

I will be signing up tonight. Can someone let the page/club owner know to look out for me please? Cant get access to Facebook from work here sadly. Probably just as well to be honest!

I'm one of the admin team so you'll be looked after!

Awesome club stickers too.

blgdave 07-16-2013 02:24 AM

Oooo stickers! ;)

Is your car a TRD, or a GT with options from the TRD list added?

Just got word back from local dealer and they say I can only order the GT with the full Aero kit fitted. Then would have to go to a panel beater and have the holes from the big wing filled in by them. Then fit the lip spoiler after that. Seems crazy to me!

North Shore here we come...

People from Chch have ordered from NST for similar reasons!

Akld meet up this Sunday and one of the guys has aero kit and several have other kits so you should go along and have a look and make yourself known.

Once you're on the FB group I'll bump the post for you. I think it is 10.30am in Mission Bay.

My car is a GT86 made into a TRD by Toyota. One of the 20. You can see mine on my signature link.

blgdave 07-16-2013 02:34 AM

Ahh, TRD it is then. Must have dep pockets to pay for them brakes and shocks!! I wanted them until I saw the price, better and cheaper elsewhere for me in the future I reckon. BUt well done that man for dedication!
