Test Drive Tomorrow!

I'm super psyched. My local dealership (Nashville) called, and they said they would have a BRZ available tomorrow, and I could schedule a test drive. They seemed very pushy though. So I may have to beat them off with a stick in order to get out of there if I don't like the car.

Perhaps they're just trying to get me to preorder, I don't expect to be able to drive the car.. One can hope. She said I'd be able to.. *shrug*

If you do like it, can you take it home? =D

Dionysus 03-12-2012 06:38 PM

It was kind of shady, because I sent them an email this morning, asking if they would have one, and they sent me an email saying "they're in very short supply, and it's unlikely that we'll have one.. " etc.. then a few hours later they send me an email saying they'd have one the next day.... ?

They said it was test drive only, by appointment.

So SOA seems to have demo cars touring the states, giving dealerships a certain amount of time with the car. You will not be able to buy this car even if you wanted to. It is kind of odd though that your dealership is using their demo cars to allow people to test drive. I don't think we've heard of that yet.

They are either going to get in deep shit for test drivers or they will not let you test drive it once you show up.

Durability test, please!!

Yeah, I'm thinking they're just trying to get me in the door. We'll see. If that's the case, they won't be getting my business, and I'll definitely put them on the "shady dealer" thread.

If it's true, then I wonder if the available BRZ is that red limited we saw floating around the picture thread.

Commentary on brakes and 0-60 if possible?

You mean the one that someone took a video of on the interstate?

Ryephile 03-12-2012 07:40 PM

Sounds shady to me. Likely you'll get there and the dealer will be told by the SoA car minder to screw off as nobody over his dead body is getting the keys.....like has been happening at every other dealership so far.

dsgerbc 03-12-2012 07:42 PM

Good luck. Hope they'll let you wind it up.
