The FR-S could pretty much be a RX-7 that you can use everyday. Love the rotary engine, but too expensive to maintain since they drink a lot of fuel and require quite a bit of work. However, they make a great project car and is a guaranteed future classic One of the reasons to buy a Scion FR-S. A truly magnificent car :D

I really liked the look of this car overall - the body lines and contours are gorgeous. It may sound strange but something that really stood out to me on the car was that spoiler. It's got a nice look similar to the wing on the Subaru STI but not quite as tall. I keep looking for a spoiler similar in the aftermarket and can't find one that seems to have that same awesome vibe to it.

There is way more room in the FR-S than the fd or rx8. I'm 6.2 and I cant find a comfortabe way to sit in either car.

Watch This 750-HP Mazda RX-7 Drift up a New Zealand Mountain

Mazda RX-7 Drifts up a New Zealand Mountain

Though rally driver Ken Block may be the undisputed king of automotive viral videos, drift drivers have been getting into the game recently. Formula Drift’s Vaughn Gittin Jr. took his Ford Mustang RTR to Saudi Arabia for a bit of sideways action, and now “Mad” Mike Whiddett has taken his Mazda RX-7 with about 750 hp up the Crown Range in Queenstown, New Zealand’s highest paved road.

The road would present quite the challenge for any enthusiast on a leisurely Sunday drive, let alone on a flat-out 144 mph drift adventure. The range has 47 corners spaced out over 6.5 miles, with a summit 3530 feet high. Yet Mad Mike still throws his four-rotor RX-7 into each corner with abandon, with a helicopter giving chase and flames shooting from the back of his car.
The video shows Mad Mike’s Red Bull Mazda RX-7 tackle consecutive hairpin turns, drive flat out over a long straight, and then rein it all back in at the top of the mountain.
Check out the heroic drift adventure below.

But the cool wall is about the people driving it and how girls will react to it.

Clearly men going through a mid life crisis are buying this along with the NSX.

Haven't you watched Top Gear?

I owned a 1995 and had to sell it in the late 90's because of the military. Hardly a day went by that I did not regret selling that car. Owned 3 RX-7's over the years and I think the styling of the car has really help up well. But I guess I am an old guy, so what do I know.

Exactly!!!

The care in itself may be amazing, but if you look like a prick or girls walk away from you when you step out.... it's uncool unfortunately

The only good FD was the Spirit R. I love the car and rotaries but replacing the motor every 80-100k miles.... Uncool. But the performance, timeless styling, and being the absolute best car mazda has ever made makes up for that a bit
