Door speakers not working after new head unit install

Searched the archives with no results. I just installed an Alpine INE-S920HD using a Metra 70-1761. Everything is functioning except I have no sound to either door speaker.

Looks like these may be run of the amp in the rear according to wiring diagrams. Has anyone experiernced this? Solutions?

Not a huge issue as I will be replacing everything soon, but it's frustrating at the moment.

Check the fuse. Its the 15 amp fuse all by itself in a corner (i think its the one nearest to the pedals/engine..but it is definitely all by itself in a corner). It isnt really labled, but I found through trial and error that it is the fuse that goes to the door speakers.

Blue/white from the Alpine to the blue or blue/white on the 1761? If it's amped, the door speakers are the only things running off of the amp. The dash tweets and rears run off the deck...

This was the issue. The Metra kit labels the blue wire as the power antenna lead and blue/white as remote turn on. However there is not a blue/white just a blue. Swapped the blue from power antenna to remote and it works now.

Wow, thanks! I had this exact same issue. That was a 5-minute fix! Door speakers work now.

Now, I still am not getting AM radio reception. I thought that was what the blue wire was powering, but no, that still doesn't work. Hmmm ...

Sometimes the antenna adaptor doesn't insert all the way in. Sometimes the tiny pin gets bent.

One bummer is a lot of aftermarket radios do not get AM reception nearly as well as factory radios. To get none makes me think there is another issue. I assume you were getting reception before...

Cod you elaborate on this. I just installed pioneer head unit and my door speakers stopped working, switch the stock headunit in and they work. I dont understand which wires you switched to make it work

connect all the blues in the harnesses together. it's the amp turn-on signal

I'm sorry I'm still lost. On the pioneer harness I have a blue/white and then a soiled blue looping into it again?

Clean it.. I think it being 'soiled' can lead to issues as you can't get a clean connection...

and what do you have on the metra harness?

I just installed a Pioneer head unit in my BRZ. I also had the same problem of the door speakers not working. I tried to connect the white/blue (remote) wire from the stereo harness to the blue (power antena) wire on the metra harness as advised to do so for the comments above. Although I do get some sound coming out now, the volume is no where near the volume coming from dash and back speakers. Anybody know why that is?

It's most likely due to the fact that the factory amplifier in the trunk is being fed by the front speaker level inputs of your new Pioneer head unit. Unfortunately there is no way to level match the amp to the input because the factory amp has a fixed gain.

The factory head unit is matched to the factory amplifier, while your new Pioneer deck is not.
