Can you please post or PM the install instructions for the Avo kit? I'm seriously considering it and would like to see the process.

They may have been updated since my install, but here is what I used.

This is the info I'm looking for, I have held back on sending you a PM. Great review!!

I don't think you should ever have to build your cooling system/oil cooling around your intercooler size. Should be the other way around. Maybe there should be more IC options out of the box or something more compatible.

And it truly is coming down to your tuner. We have about 5 different major kits people are using now, all appear to have something good about them.

But at the end of the day we only have a hand full of quality tuners.

I just wanted to post and say that the facts are that any of the turbo kits out there can hit these numbers. AVO's kit is using an unequal length manifold and the smallest turbo of any of the kits and still made the numbers. It really all comes down to which turbo kit you prefer. Maybe price point is most important, maybe Boxer rumble is most important, and maybe professionalism is most important.

The thing to really be taken away from this is that getting a proper tune is where the power will be made and the drivability and reliability will come from.

I agree fully that any of the major turbo kits available currently for this car will put down great numbers WITH the proper tune. No one has reinvented the wheel when it comes to turbo setups..just a few different designs and placements that each have their pros and cons. Personally, living 10 minutes from Tony's shop and dyno, I don't have a very hard choice when it comes to choosing my kit.

I would like to point out that Tony also does amazing work remotely. He has personally tuned my car on the dyno a few times now but every once in a while I want to update one thing or another and after sending him one set of logs he has it resolved. (Just to clarify "resolved"...never had a problem with one of his tunes, ever. One time I wanted to fix an idle dip and no log was required and another time I noticed it running a little rich and he fixed it up perfect on the first shot)

Again, miss a weekend miss a lot. Cool thread @Sportsguy83 thanks for the honest info!

Seems like a lot of useful and honest info has been coming out lately, a very good trend.

So that's 3 FI installs within a short period of time all seemingly having bad luck with Visconti tuning. This is interesting. Then again I don't know how many perfect FI installs he's done so it's just something to think about. I will be going with the AVO kit and tune from him so I hope I don't see these issues.

Canceled my AVO kit, and going with FA20 and looking forward to Tony's tunes...btw thanks for the great write up, I still like the AVO because it looks clean but my vendor has given me no eta on when kit would reach me and Tony gave me a reasonable eta
