My turn. =(

Hadn't even been at the office for 10 in when a lady came in to tell me that she backed into my car... At least she was nice enough to tell me =) The damage wasn't that bad, really.

She drive a truck? Seems like she just hit the taillight only...

Insurance claim, and then get Tom's or Valentis instead! :)

m.wood0213 07-13-2013 12:23 PM

that sucks but yes a good opportunity to get new tail lights.

jonbonazza 07-13-2013 12:31 PM

I actually prefer the stock tails and since she was so nice and actually took it upon herself to tell me she did it (she could have easily just drove away and I would have never known it was her), I decided to let her decide if she wanted to pay for it out of pocket or report to insurance. She wanted to pay for it out of pocket, so I decided to get her the cheapest price.

Good people are hard to come by, so I like to reward those that do.

Perihelion 07-13-2013 12:31 PM

i wonder if insurance will quote you for the one light or a set...

Perihelion 07-13-2013 12:31 PM

nevermind lol

jonbonazza 07-13-2013 12:33 PM

They actually only would have quoted me for a set. I discussed this with one of our friends who is an insurance agent. Total damage with bumper repairs came to $762.62, which is less than a new set of after market lights alone, so...

Thats plenty for aftermarket tail lights. http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...ail-lights.htm I would get those!

bkblitzed 07-13-2013 12:39 PM

does the aftermarket tail lights like toms or something have the condensation problem? Im guessing no?

scary alien 07-13-2013 12:46 PM

Aw, that sucks, Jon :(.

Glad that the lady was honest and up-front with you and working this out.

Could have been worse, eh?

SubaSteve 07-13-2013 12:53 PM

It's sad to see what the world has come to when you feel like you have to reward someone for doing the right thing.

CAMBAM_6 07-13-2013 03:26 PM

I agree with you OP..stick with OEM or JDM tailights..not a fan of aftermarket lights

5th 86 07-13-2013 07:34 PM

Thats pretty sad that in our society we are actually surprised and elated when ppl do the right thing...

Most definitely not, there is much more quality assurance with the aftermarket, and even if they re-use other assembly from the stock car they are torqued to spec.
