Step 1) Buy an FR-S
Step 2) Turbo FR-S
Step 3) Hoon FR-S
Step 4) Sell FR-S
Step 5) Profit
Step 6) Repeat

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?.. Not going to lie, if it was under warranty for say; 5 years, i'd buy it!

Too bad no Toyota dealership would let you trade in your boosted frs or recognize any warranty claim. But hell we can sell you a 400whp one for twice the sticker. And then deny your warranty claim if you break it.

Its cool that a dealership is even trying to do this...but its only worth what someone will pay for it, and it won't be 46K....

dem00n 07-12-2013 05:23 PM

I could get a really clean NSX for that money and have some left over.

Can't wait to see in 5 years to come what the FI FRS/BRZ will be going for.

pheoxs 07-12-2013 05:25 PM

There's a dealer in Calgary selling a turbo FRS for 40k$ IIRC which isn't bad if you get full warranty which i believe. It ended up being 5k for the kit and 5k for the install with warranty

CAMBAM_6 07-12-2013 05:28 PM

Damn that car is clean as hell though..i was expecting more to be done to it for almost 50k...what a rape off

STV3 07-12-2013 05:36 PM

I was going to say how stupid this dealership is for expecting to get this much money for that car but at the same time I would not be surprised if there was actually some one out there dumb enough to actually buy it.

After taxes and fees we're talking about a $50,000 FRS lmao

Not much different than what dealerships were doing 50 years ago with muscle cars.

Put on stickier tires, aggressive supsension, upgrade the carbs or drop in a big block.
Add a dash of dealer "flair" and today they sell for 6 figures.

If the car was any good of course.

Edit: I am however in agreement with everyone else, not worth the risk unless there's a VERY comprehensive and generous warranty.

I agree, overpriced for sure, but in all honesty, if it will carry a 6 year 60k mile warranty on the motor, it just might be worth the price. You put a turbo kit on a car yourself, when all is said and done with supporting mods, a nice set of wheels, you are looking at what? $35k-$40k? I would never do it, but a turbo car under warranty would be fun

The first 3 brzs at my local subaru dealer sold for 36k......
The first camaros sold with a 10k markup
The preorder list for the C7 vetts have a required 10k markup.

Someone stupid will buy this or someone with too much money to care.

n2oinferno 07-12-2013 05:48 PM

So you're saying I can have that.. or for five grand more I can have a brand new Vette..

Diode Dynamics 07-12-2013 05:53 PM

You can list anything for any price on eBay, that doesn't mean it's worth it. Classic example right here, $46,000!
