Smell of burnt plastic"
 

Any body else smells burnt plastic by the engine bay. I just got my BRZ monday. And i still has that smell.

I had it the first few days of ownership. It will go away. No worries.

Zero funny smells after about 3k miles. Give it time, check under the hood periodically if the smell is really strong (you never know right?).

It's the rust/paint protection that is sprayed in the engine bay during construction of the car. This happens on almost every new vehicle I've ever test driven.

And no crickets after 5k!

I still have crickets, you just can't hear them with the hood closed. lol (almost at 10k miles)

Mine stuck around to about 10k then decided to retire, they still murmur dissent every once and awhile but for the most part are decent comrades.

Original fuel pump and everything.

meaning crickets stopped at 5k or you never had em?

I've noticed my crickets went away. I did have them before and they were annoying as hell. I haven't changed gas stations so maybe the fuel mixture that is coming out of the refineries is a bit different. Anyways, didn't mean to jack the thread.

the smells dissipate....part of burning off the coatings as said above...wait til you get the crickets...thats a fun one.

My dealer said that i will not get crickets, but he said something about goat? Wtf LoL....
