Brake override system in the FT-86?

http://jalopnik.com/5473971/toyotas-...to-enthusiasts

Is anyone else worried about this?

I would think that even though all Toyotas will have the brake override system in it, I don't think it would necessarily be instantaneous. Also from the article

There is a timed delay in the cutoff to account for steep hill take-offs and the like.
Honestly I don't like burnouts and I don't think our sports coupe will go rock climbing anytime soon but for specific cars like the FJ cruiser and whatever the production FT86 will be called I'm sure Toyota will adjust the software parameters so enthuiasts can use the car to the fullest of it's abilities.

I hope so. I mean it seems logical, right? One of the coolest things I've seen in the concept is the Anti-lock Brakes and Stability Management switches in the center console. I's really like having to option to switch all that junk off.

i hope they dont bother putting this in - extra sensors may only cost them a few $/£ but its a few $/£ id like to save off the car's RRP!

Sadly due to the fact that they want to keep the cost of this car low enough to where 20-something year olds can afford it I think that includes Insurance as well and I'm afraid they won't make it to the production model for just that reason and the same reason why it's a 2+2 and not just a 2 seater.

With the way the recall situation in America is going all North American cars will definitely have this if not by choice by Toyota(which they said already will happen to all cars model year 2011) but by Congress which might just make all car manufacturers do this for US bound cars.

Dislike. Heel toe shifting is a part of my everyday driving.
Also, this will hinder brake boosting too should you decide to turbo your car.

Yeah hearing about that pisses me off too. I hope this doesn't affect my craving for this car :[

Manuals have tuning options like "anti lag" that are much more effective. Plus, driving down the freeway, applying your brakes to build boost is idiotic.
