Concerns regarding Stance Super Sport coilovers
Hey guys,
Just ordered some stance super sport coilovers and since there are not too many reviews on THIS forum.. I decided to do some research on different forums.. on a genesis coupe forum, I came across this: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7398/9...b2b68529_b.jpg To quote the OP: "As you can see the endlink bracket sheered off due to my upgraded whiteline sway bars. After the bracket broke off the endlink got jammed between a subframe/chassis bolt and some suspension bits, which bent it. This all happened while I was on the track at laguna seca, and the parts broke during a long sweeping turn after the corkscrew. I am disappointed that I bought track suspension only to have it break during real track use, showing that this product (at least for me) didn't have the quality to survive one track day. I am happy that Andrew @ genracer was able to get me replacement parts, but they only came after 1 week and 2 days. This entire fiasco really sucks because two days before the track I got a $100.00 alignment, and now I need to get another one. So by now I am in about 1,300...so I wish I could just go back and purchase PBM coilovers. I do have to say that before the bracket broke, the suspension gave me a massive grip improvement. I would go too fast into a corner only to find that I was in total control allowing for me to push the car even further. My recommendation to anybody running whiteline sway bars with these coilovers, is to set the front for the "soft" setting and ensure that when they are installed that there is no "preload" on the sway bar. " Here is the original thread: http://www.gencoupe.com/product-revi...coilovers.html Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Brian |
That is literally THE ONLY failure I have seen from one of Stance's products. Crazy but I feel like there may be a bit of information left out. Whether or not that info would even contribute to this happening, idk. Pretty crazy though
Not many reviews but lots of people on here run them. I run them as well. 2,000 miles of DD use and a drift event and no issues whatsoever here. I love them and everybody I know who runs them in their cars (any car) loves them as well |
1 failure doesn't really mean anything. When was the last time any company had a 100% defect/failure free product?
That's what warranties are for. |
Sounds like a bad install of the front sway bar was the reason.

sounds like he had too much front bar. I ripped the end link tabs off the stock housings of my MR2 a few years back. I had a solid ST bar.... Over 1" thick.

Thanks guys, just wanted to hear from those who have them to give me some faith (they were not my first choice but the RCE tarmac 0's doesnt achieve the look I was aiming for)
