Rust under spoiler?
 

I have a TRD spoiler I attempted to install on my first BRZ, but could never get it to fit quite right - so I gave up, and put it back in its box.

Last week, I traded my car for another 2013, and today decided to give the thing a go again. I took the stock spoiler off, and...there's rust under it!

It follows the inner 'pad' on the spoiler, from the right-side mounting bolts about halfway to the centerline of the trunk. Looks a lot like someone sprinkled paprika on the trunk, in a line.

At first I thought it was dust or buffing compound, and I clayed it off - but you can still see the little 'pinpricks' in the paint when you look at the right angle. It's like something abrasive was under that side of the spoiler when installed, and vibration ground it into the paint.

Gonna stop by the dealer tomorrow; will be interesting. I'm thinking it'll have to be repainted, or at least re-clearcoated.
