Visconti Tuning now has STG1 & STG2 Tunes - More Info Inside!

Thought I take a moment and share some information that is almost impossible to figure out unless you actually following my "Visconti Tuning - Latest BRZ Info" Thread.. which can be very boring at times.

For the longest time I've stated there was really no need to have a STG1 and STG2 tune for the BRZ.

Last month during my normal "Let's try to improve what we're selling" dyno sessions I noticed a tune change that made a improvement on a car with a header, but hurt the car without the header.

Exhaust system didn't have any effect on the gain or loss.. I tested this on several cars which is why it took me so long to actually notice the gain / loss on different cars.

So this means if your a Visconti customer and you have a STOCK Header, you'll want to request a STG1 tune.

If you have a aftermarket header, you'll want my STG2 flash.

At this time only the header is what makes you STG1 or STG2 with Visconti Tuning.

For those of you who are wondering, our STG2 does NOT cost anymore.

If you already have a tune with us, it's considered a free update.

Like always this is just one of the new things going on right now.

We have a few other things in the works for you non-forced induction guys.

Thanks

John

Im running the stage2 pump gas tune with my Revworks UEL header, and there was a pretty big difference to be honest. Especially in the mid-range as well as top end (after 6k). It actually feels just as strong as the old E85 tune in version 1.1 Can you chime in on what areas you saw improvement on the header cars on the dyno with your stage2 adjustments?

The change effects the trq dip.

The upper rpm power increase is just part of my newer flash

Cool! I have a modular 4-1 FA20Club header that should be in this next week and I'll be putting in a request for an updated tune with that happens. Appreciate the hard work, John!

I have P&L's 4 - 1 equal length and that + the Flex Fuel kit is a ton of fun, hope it does wonders for the car!

Awesome service! Out of curiosity, does this apply to people purchasing in the future or just anyone that bought a tune before stg2 was released?

Yes it will. Anytime you purchase a tune with him, free updates are included as long as you own your car.

Opposed is right. I am very happy with my Visconti tune. I was just out driving at lunch and I was flat foot shifting around town like a boss.

Is there really a HUGE difference between stock and aftermarket headers w/tune?

I want a tune for sure but cant make up my mind about the headers.

Will I get good HP gains with intake/cat-back upgrades and a stg 1 tune?

Or to get good gains (more than 10 hp) I need to get the header for sure?

I literally have no more torque dip at all and I'm using stock headers atm... I guess its time to give in on aftermarket headers to bump it even more.

v1.14 honestly does feel like v1.1 on e85.. Incredible.

Personally I thought the gains with Stage1 were excellent. Header+Stage2 will definitely yield notably more, but I wasn't disappointed in the stg1. It's not ALL about the peak power gained. The drivability improvement I got out of the reflash made a night and day difference on the car, even just cruising around town. Rev it out? Huge difference. :) I'd jump on the stage1 as soon as possible. When you get a header down the road, it's a free bump to stage2. Winning.

Do these tunes have the racerom stuff?

Well, define HUGE in your eyes...I would say HUGE would be going force inducted. But it really is a drastic difference over stock header IMO. With most bolt ons I added to the car, I didn't feel (nor expected to) any difference at all. But slapping on the UEL header, I noticed improvements in the torque dip right away. Now with the stage2 tune, I don't feel much of a dip at all, much smoother in power delivery. I almost like this better than the 1.1 E85 tune...

Thought I'd share a dyno chart to show what a header does with a tune.
This chart is based on 1st run stock, DIF, performance exhaust and 2nd run with v1.13 tune and header added after.
I was not overly excited with the gains obtained with the v1.13, expected more, however you can see the improvement in mid torque with a header
Looking forward to see what v1.14 does as I can feel a difference in mid torque and top end.
I will be doing the dyno comparison of v1.13 vs STG2 v.1.14b3 with headers today to compare and will post shortly.
