Was pretty thrilled after driving the frs for the first time, I had a jeep before and the frs is like a porche next to it. Just joined the ft86 club and proud of it. Now that I got the car can you guys give me some ideas on what mods I should do first or if I should even do any? I was thinking the borla exhaust and the k&n intake. Any recommendation would be awesome?

Just enjoy the car. But if you must look at what you want to tackle first. Power, looks, or function mods.

First off congrats and welcome to the club. As for the topic my
personal biases is fog lights and Toyota emblems.

More looks, HP isn't a really big concern for me. I'm not going to do anything yet I just want some ideas for when the time comes.

Actually, I'll take a look thanks man. Do you have an exhaust preference?

welcome and congratulations! i too just joined the family as well :)

i'd say do a bit of research before slapping on some bolt on exhaust and intake. some folks here appear to like the fa20club intake some like injen. an interesting thread i stumbled upon that has a nice comparison of some of the popular brands:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19413

there are some issues reported but that comes to the game of modifications. a good tune should straighten things out though.

as far as exhausts got im a fan of invidia but if money wasn't an issue you can be rest assured i'd grab the zero titanium lol!

that's what's great though, it's your car, your budget, have fun!

No problem there nice cheap little things that make the car yours. As far as exhausts I'm on the fence; borla, greddy and the trd are to my liking, but to each their own just don't expect any big hp gains.

Congrats! 18" light weight wheels with a lil bit wider tires... A good intake, preferably not K&N (unless drop-in)... Fujitsubo exhaust... & coil overs.... If you really wanna go for it, tune it or to go crazy crazy speed, FI.... Cheers mate! Good luck and have fun!

Intake and exhaust would be good first, but AFE Takeda, AEM are better ones then FRS after looking at multiple dyno tests, and a good headerback exhaust system will help. But ultimately its your decision and you should enjoy your car as much as possible  congratulations. Also don't install anything until after break-in!

First cheap thing you can do thats a nice add on is a good drop in air filter, ie: K&N, KKS, Works, etc.. several vendors here have them on hand. From there the rest is up to you, know that if go headers you may as well do whole exhaust and be in the 2000 plus total,... a tune will be only way to harness those gains to which means ecutek or unichip and another grand so start at the axleback IMO and work forward.... but if you are made of money.. go hard and fast. :D
