Throw up some close ups of the header in the top pic. Looks like similar manufacturing to the VQ35 headers I have.

i don't see the point in doing a catted header. why would anyone go to the effort to make all those beautiful smooth mandrel bends flow just right into one another, then go and put a damn cat in the thing. you'd be replacing a catted header with another catted header. getting rid of the cat is the whole point. other than for sound alone, i can't see why anyone would buy that.

A hasty google search shows speedlab of the phillipines may be responsible. This actually seems like one of their pricier headers too (figure due to more piping).

I wasn't able to find a website for HotPipes, did anyone else find this? I always like to research a brand before putting a second thought into giving them money. Usually brand's with websites often ofter other things like customer service, maybe even a warranty.

Thing you need to look out for on these 'bargain' brands is where the corners are cut. In the VQ35 headers I have the tubing is 304 but the flanges are not. The close up of the tube to flange weld shows indications that it may be a stainless to chromed steel weld.

But for less than $500 it's not a huge deal, and will be a good entry point for a lot of people.

what fuel was the tune made for? E85? its nice to see a company create a more efficient header for less than $500

If they are for that price, great. It's just that the heat gradient on the second pic is not typical TIG, and the flanges on the first pic don't look like they're holding up too well with surface corrosion. But maybe it's gasket material I'm seeing.

Either way it's cheap enough that it probably won't bother anyone that's seriously interested.

But hey, you asked for opinions.

Not bad at that price, but the TQ dips are still there. If I am going to get headers, I want those gone!
