Anybody know what the settings between are for?

MFPC 08-15-2013 05:06 PM

I wanna give my input.

A/C blows pleasantly cold when I'm driving normally, but as soon as I rev past 4500rpm, it's like the A/C turns off and starts blowing outside air.

In other words, any sort of aggressive driving with the A/C on will lead to non-cold air.

Of course... who the hell drives aggressively with A/C on? lawl.

Normal or abnormal? Input?

The A/C clutch disengages under heavy acceleration. It's normal.

I really would like the A/C on the coldest option to be a setting where I never want it to be at .. that way I'd be able to reach a temperature that I find comfortable
as is im still sweating on the max settings on set 3 which is freaking loud too
sure on the freeway going +50 mph it feels good after a while but local streets im melting even after getting off the freeway.
I just don't think this is acceptable and debating trying to find ways to make the a/c stronger

Mine blows really cold air even on the "1" position. The highest I've ever gone is the "2" position because anything after that, it gets uncomfortably cold.
I live in Calgary, so I'm perfectly okay with cold temperatures, and even then 3 and 4 are a little uncomfortable.

What's the hottest temp in Calgary usually? Looks like your record high is 96 degrees, the poster above you has several months above that temperature and probably sees a few days above 105. I've had very few issues with the A/C when it's under 95 outside but it takes awhile to counterract the hot engine sitting 6 inches away from your feet and the black interior that's been baking in the sun.

When it hits 100+ though, it's fighting a losing battle, especially if you've got direct sunlight coming in the windows.

I'd say average summer days are usually between 25-30 C, which would be between 77 and 86 for you Americans. So it's not overly hot to begin with I suppose.

I guess we'll see how true the opposite is when the winter hits and we hit -31 Fahrenheit here and we'll have to start a thread called "How hot is your heater blowing?"

I live in south Texas. Outside temperatures are at 100+ . I run the AC on HIGH and stop and go traffic the compressor shuts off till I hit the highway. I don't know why the AC shuts off often.

it doesnt shut off.. low rpms and no airflow over the condenser doesnt allow it to work effectively at idle or low speeds..

Mine blows ice cold. I live in dallas with temps usually upwards of 100. I rarely turn past 2 on my AC dial. Normally I end up getting chilly.

Burrcold 08-18-2013 03:41 AM

You just have to know how to get the temperature down quickly. Open the windows, and put the AC on so that it's pulling outside air. As soon as the stale heat drops a bit inside the cabin, put it on recirculate and put the windows back up.

My AC I can feel it cycling on and off, the air going from icy to just cool, back and forth.

Is there anything the dealer can do to change the parameters of the AC controls to mkae it stay on more?

I'd really like my AC to run colder than it does. I know it has it in it, because every 20-30 seconds it gets nice and cold, but then it clicks off and then it's not so super cold. I want COOOLLLD

Celica00 08-18-2013 04:29 PM

mine is pretty damn chilly. I usually have it near the center of hot and cold just so it isn't overwhelming
