Anyone servicing their Scion at a non-Scion Toyota Dealer?

Seems like it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm just curious how many people are doing this.

I do not really see a point. If you are bringing it somewhere to get work done, might as well go to the place that will do it for free for the first couple years. And I trust the Toyota dealer more then Valvoline or whatever quick-shop. I've done work at those type of places before, but you need to watch because their techs don't always know what they are doing...

Because when the cost of gas/time to get to the nearest Scion dealership is more than the cost of the free service, then free is expensive.

My service advisor told me his friend with a FRS went into a Subaru dealer and got his car serviced. The guy works for Toyota though so not sure if it was because of connections. I assume Toyota could service Scion vehicles fine though.

Any Toyota dealership will honor the scion warranty and are either being trained or have been trained on these cars. I'm sure you could take it to a Subaru dealer also, they will just charge u for the service instead of getting it free.

I have my warranty work done by my local Toyota dealer. I go to them for my TPMS reprogramming as well when I switch to winter wheels. They treat me good. The nearest Scion dealer is at least an hour and a half away.

I am getting mine done at a toyota dealership. They told me all I have to do is call in ahead of time to make sure they have the parts.

I had to drive 9 hours to the closest scion dealer where i live and my toyota dealer in town honors everything. Already did one oil change and 1 warrentee there.

I have heard that it is possible to buy an FR-S at a Toyota dealership, because they can get one for you by dealer trade. Can anyone confirm that?

here in cali some of the dealers are combined. A toyota dealer will sell scion cars, and a scion dealer will sell toyota cars.

Here in NH most Scion dealers are part of a Toyota dealership, or at least the ones that I know of. I did not think of people being too far away, I am within an hour to 4 or 5 Toyota/Scion dealerships, the closest just 10 minutes down the road :-p
