Well that's what I was asking @coyote. Seems like the only simple spot would be to relocate the battery to the trunk and then put the water tank where the battery lives. But the thought of that has me thinking the tank will soak with under hood heat. Maybe running the tank in the trunk but then now you have to deal with a bunch more plumbing- not to mention having to upgrade to a more powerful pump to flow more water more quickly.

All in all, it just makes more sense to go with an A2A with this car but it's refreshing seeing something different for a change.

The A/CLA/GLA 45 variants also use W2A, running at 1.8bar all day every day.
The amount of water just means higher thermal mass so longer to heat up, what's more important is how heat is being drawn out.
My setup on the AW11 always has the fan and pump on, the worst I've seen is 100 degrees from the supercharger(yes, they run ridiculously hot) and 50 degrees after the cooler (which is what the 45 AMG runs at), this is after 2 hours of thrashing about in 40 degree heat.

I didn't do this to be different. I am doing it because it is the best solution for this car. My testing already shows that and we are still improving it.

Doug from TopSpeed was just using the washer fluid tank and that's what I was planning on using since it's fairly large and will hold over a gallon. He just had a hose dumping straight into the top of it and then modified the bottom and had the pump mounted down there. I got an extra washer bottle and was going to do the same but put a quick disconnect fluid fitting on the bottom where the stock pump usually sits. The shape is so odd though you can't really access the inside of the bottom of the tank. There is a seam in the middle though so I was going to cut it in half and then epoxy it back together if I can't figure something else out.

@dwx

Noble idea but I prefer not modifying anything that hinders street driving duties. That includes using the washer fluid as subbed for a water tank.

Not sure where else I would stick the water resevoir. I'm still on the battery location but with good heat shielding and a lid large enough to dump clumps of ice into the resevoir.

Ptuning hinted at a V-Mount Setup along with a few other serious goodies:thumbup: it maybe on their road map soon enough

Yeah can't beat the battery location.

Turbo Yoda has been in Japan with the MCM guys, but gets back today. That means airbox version 4 will be completed and the car will be ready for its final tune.

Unfortunately I have to go to Sydney for WTAC, so that won't occur until the end of the month. After a year and a half of prototyping, we are almost finished.

Then track testing (as this has always been about making a turbo BR86 that is good for more than just a few dyno pulls), then it will all go into production.

Can you ask Turbo Yoda if it will work on my Honda?

You did know that was a joke from the MCM episode where Moog was annoying Turbo Yoda?
