Supercharged Review Question

I know plenty of you don't troll the FI forum. But I wanted some feedback as most people I talk to consider a STI or TRD turbo or supercharged FR-S the holy grail.

This review was created to kind of detail what it would be like to have that.
If you watch this and see the review:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40792

  • Would you want a forced induction car after watching/reading?
  • Would you be happy with 50-75HP for 7k?

Yes, I would be more likely or less likely to do Turbo/SC after watching this.

No "because race car" option

Yeah, the poll should use "more likely" or "less likely" as choices, but I understood what you meant.

Thank you for all of these videos. Why do you put so much work into them? I could see your concern (warranty void, unclear instructions, risk to vehicle) with the final results, and I was thankful to see the process without having to pay for it myself. I really like how you lay out the pros and cons of it all.

Enjoy that extra power. You have a cool lady and a good friend helping you build. Lots to be happy about. Thank you again for the entertaining and informational video work. You and your crew rock.

I screwed up the poll!!!

Thanks, the people who help are pretty supportive with basically nothing in return aside from just hanging out.

I do it I guess because I value life experience, and going through something myself. When it comes to this car, lately there is not a ton information about the process coming from anyone besides vendors.

For me it's about sharing the experience, whether you agree or not, it's something for people to chew on. And the fact I am not here to sell anything helps level the playing field.

Fantastic video. I was thinking of getting a supercharger myself. Currently looking at the innovative unit and adding an oil cooler as you have mentioned in the video. Thank you for this.

When are you hitting up your next Autocross?

StOpNG0x 07-05-2013 02:14 AM

Awesome video and research. I'd like to say I have the balls to do this, but I don't. Either way it's something to think about and consider when the warranty is up.

First time SC installer here. Innovate went on in 5hrs 45min. Started on first crank. Pulls like a MoFo.

Thanks for taking the time to make your videos.

Great video. The video made me on the fence about going FI. More specifically the Vortech kit. I may go Innovate in the future. But my confidence is a little lower haha.

The Innovate is definitely hot right now, should be a no brainer but, we will see after more people are signed up.

Thanks man, instructions on that kit are very good. Love to get my hands on one. But I think their intercooled kit will add another layer of complexity.

Did 6 runs on the dyno too for the exhaust. I did not expect much of any gains and knew the Vortech was going on... But when I saw 1 peak HP I was like wtf. It did make 7HP in the mid-range though and this is where peak numbers lie sometimes. Its a good exhaust, but don't buy it for HP if you are not tuned. Most exhausts I am sure fall victim this way.
