The european or jdm gt86 price is about $40K which is almost the price of 2 scion Fr-s.

Erm, they really aren't that different. Different exterior and interior options, but everything else is the same.

Anyways... It'll cost an arm and a leg, and the ends most certainly won't justify the means.

I know there isn't an official pricing for the car, that is why i just want to know the shipping cost.

Thanks in advance!

WTF?!

I really hope you have a lot of money to throw away.

those would-be the cheapest OEM headlights I have ever seen.. That includes the cost of the headlight assembly with proper reflector, bulbs, and ballast?

aren't the headlights self leveling? That alone is usually a $1k just for the headlight assembly. Ballast and bulb are separate.

What makes HID's so great? I live in a Suburb that's pretty lit, even with crappy headlights, their are city lights everywhere to back you up.

fatoni 03-08-2012 01:06 AM

i the point is that if you can afford to import this car, you can afford to buy a better car

I'm really irked by the replies the OP is getting.

1) Why would they want to import it?
Because they want the Toyota, not the Scion, not the Subaru, maybe? Even those who are saying they're the same are admitting there are differences. Therefore not the same. There's something to be said for brand loyalty too. In the end, it has nothing to do with the OPs question.

2) Get the Scion and debadge or Subaru and change the front bumper?
Scion and rebadge is an option, unless he wants that push start then you're screwed. Unless that's in from factory you can't just add it afterward from my understanding. This option is fairly big for some people from what I've seen. Also may run into issues doing a full rebadge, might not be able to fully remove all traces of Scion, same goes for Subaru.

The Subaru has a different suspension setup from what Subaru said and Subaru styling he may not want, like that silver part on the dash for example.

Again, also has nothing to do with what was asked by the OP.

3) Cheaper not to do it.
This has always pissed me off. Who cares if it's cheaper? You might but some people really don't care how much they spend as long as it's what they want. If someone wants to spend large amounts of their own money then let them. It's their money. It's also their time.

Once again, nothing to do with what was asked by the OP.

4) It's a stupid question.
No question is stupid, the idea may not be the best or the most cost effective but a question is never stupid. In this case the OPs question is to gain information so they can make a decision of if they want to do something or not. Give them the information and let them decide what they want to do instead of pushing your ideas on them like some religious bible thumper.

You guessed it, once again, nothing to do with what was asked by the OP.

Now, can someone seriously answer the OPs question? Please.

TL DR - The replies have nothing to do with what the OP asked, someone answer the OPs question please.

well this is the internet so most people are jerks. i think its all just a mean way of pointing the op to a more logical choice. it would be a very expensive car that would be a very poor value and might not even be useable for the intended puruposes. if youre suggesting that importing a car for a push start makes sense then no answers here are going to influence anyone
