Any bay area dealers have a brz or frs?

Anyone hear from any local dealers?

Not sure what you're asking... if you're asking if any dealers have a preproduction car, i believe there one in SJ this weekend in capitol subaru.

as mentioned in the other thread, stevens creek subaru has a silver brz. the guy said it's there for the week.

Steven's Creek Subaru does have the car. The one salesman that talked to my buddy and I was so full of shit. He kept going on and on about how this was a different car from the FRS, not like just cosmetic details but an entirely different car. His specifics were... suspension. I was gonna ask him what about it, but he had no clue. Salesman hilarity aside, even if you're going to get the FRS you should go see it while they have it this week. It's amazing to see in person. Pictures just don't do it justice. One of the junior sales guys has a buddy at the Scion dealer, and said that they should be getting their demo FRS soon as well.

Things that really didn't sink in until I touched/saw it. Fenders are rolled from the factory. The engine bay is tubbed so expect some road noise, and if you remove the plastic from the front wheel wells it's an open space to the wheel/road. It's pretty awesome looking. The battery placement is nice. I like having it in the back corner as opposed to the drivers side. Finally, even bone stock the car looks amazing.

I saw the silver BRZ at Steven's Creek yesterday. The sales guys were typically clueless, and trying to get me to put a deposit on "one of the last cars" they're getting. We all know the production numbers will ramp up, and I'll gladly wait until I can buy one with VIP discount.

The car itself was pretty special, and I was able to confirm a kid's carseat fits.

Yeah when I was there I was moving the passenger seat back and forth and had my buddy sit in it where I felt my son would be comfortable. It looks like it'll be a good fit. He'll be excited to ride around in daddy's new "race car."

The sales guy was a total tool about it all though. They said they have 3 left, and are only getting 35 cars. It's been reported that SoA is only getting 6k total cars. But Since that time Toyota has said the demand is overwhelming and they are ramping up for 100k total cars in 2012. Sooo... either Subaru of America is dumb and hates money, or the sales people are talking shit to get a ton of sales before VIP discounts can be used.

Either way I'd prefer to avoid Steven's Creek Subaru. That place has bad reviews, and seems super shady. I miss my Austin TX Subaru dealer. They were honest, legit, and I had no issues taking my WRX there for maintenance or just to shoot the shit with the tech guys.

I didn't want to mention this, but I had a group buy with the Internet/Fleet Sales Manager over 6 months ago. When they saw the initial allocation was going to be limited he reneged on the deal and said I could be the first person on the list at full MSRP.

"We aren't going to charge you a markup."

Oh gee, thanks.

With Subaru VIP, I can pick which ever dealer I want to pick the car up at. I certainly won't be choosing this one.

Cheers,
Hong

The issue is that Subaru wont have VIP pricing on the BRZ at least not the first year run, and I myself also joined a the VIP thing thru LeaveNoTraceBehind , but now I find myself Pre-ordering at MSRP at StevensCreekSubaru.

MSRP is not that bad considering the demand of a vehicle like this one before launch, so unless you pre-order one chances are any BRZ siting on a dealer's lot will have "market adjustment" on them.

Norcalmav23 04-10-2012 03:37 AM

Geeze all this reading about Stevens Creek Subaru is scaring the crap outa me lol. I pre-ordered my BRZ from them and truthfully... if it weren't for this site I wouldn't have seen the silver BRZ that has been there for a week. And I do agree that it is a little sad how their staff doesn't really know much about the car. i am really hoping the transaction part of getting my BRZ goes better.

denkigrve 04-11-2012 12:26 PM

It should be okay man. Just don't let them charge you more than MSRP or try to BS you about the car.

BigFatFlip 04-11-2012 04:38 PM

Just heard back from Wayne of Livermore Subaru. He gave me a price of $26,265+ taxes & fees for a Premium 6MT, which isn't too bad, but not sure why the $20 above MSRP (since I was promised MSRP when I placed my deposit). Either way, I could live with that.

Capt Canuck 04-11-2012 04:50 PM

^Extra $20 they have tacked onto the delivery fee maybe?
Was initially $750, is now $770.

denkigrve 04-11-2012 10:27 PM

Yeah 20 dollars extra is a bit strange. Why just 20?
