Call it a GT86 or FR-S?

Just curious, when people ask you what kind of car you have or you're talking about your car, do you call it a Toyota GT86 or a Scion FR-S?

Sometimes I feel so stupid calling it a Scion, even though thats what it is. It just seems like it doesn't do it justice...

FR-S.....

"The eight-six" or "FR-S".

If I called it a GT86 I would just start getting people confused.

86 just because i love the ae86

An FR-S...just makes it easier...and if you know any true car enthusiasts they the know the story behind the collaboration so it shouldn't matter

GT86 because it confuses people. That is why I have Toyota emblems on it.

Frs to because that's what it is.

Noone around here knows what an FRS is (most don't know who makes scion, either), and calling it an 86 wouldn't help things. I might rebadge it just to add to the confusion

This car is the Toyota 86. In other parts of the world other than Japan it's branded as the gt-86 or fr-s (assuming we're excluding Subaru in which the brz is also a branding of the 86. So you should actually have the fr-s or Toyota 86 as a poll option, not the gt-86.

And I tell them it's the 86, but for american Toyota branded it as a scion.

Toyota really should have just kept to the 86 worldwide. Don't know why there's an 86 and a GT86.

FR-S. That's what it says on the birth certificate, that's what it says in the ad, that's what it says at the dealer, that's what it says on Toyota's website, damn it. :)

I understand the desire to feel different and/or exclusive but it's still an FR-S.

I bet people in the other parts of the world wish they had an FR-S. It's always better to be in the minority and have something nobody else does.

What about this car is so attractive to insecure people? I call mine a "Scion FR-S". Gearheads know what it is, and if a non-gearhead is curious about the car they get the story. If it's a really hot woman, I call it a Gumpert FRBZ-SR1000R.

Toyota GT86 because I refuse to call it a Scion. I did for the first week and people made faces or said something like "one of those cube things?" :barf: Face it, this is what the Scion brand has become.

So I don't care if people are confused. I prefer to call it a Toyota GT86 even if they don't know what it is. And yes, I have all the correct badges to justify it.
