NorCal specific group buy feeler: Chromoly lug nuts?

hey guys, I've been talking to CounterSpaceGarage (they are an official FT86CLUB sponsor/vendor and also hard core track/time attack guys) in the hopes of maybe working out some kind of standing club discount for 86DRIVE/NorCal 86 members. :)

Would you guys be interested in group buying their next batch of lugnuts? They're currently stress testing a less expensive lugnut option (due to demand). >> It will still be about 3 months before they are ready for production/sale though. <<

This will be either 4130 or SCM435 Chromoly. 25mm of threading, conical, 40MM total length, 17mm socket, open ended. Laser etched with the CSG logo. :)

The goal of this design is to be as least expensive as possible while maintaining maximum function. We're expecting this to cost around half of the Aluminum lugnuts ($190/set) we already offer, but could work a deal on say... 10 or 20 sets.
I might be interested in buying a few sets myself so let me know if you are interested and I can start a list for a group buy. If there are other products that they offer that you're interested in, let me know.

ok I'll start a list for those interested (this is not a firm commitment to buy yet).

Might be interested but from what I remember, the current lug nuts they offer dont work with OEM wheels?

I might be interested. Wondering how they'll look like

yeah I think the conical "tuner" type lugs are typically only for aftermarket wheels not OEM wheels. Though I've heard the BRZ/FRS wheels specifically have a unique conical seat that might work with them... not sure though.

I'm guessing they will look pretty similar to the aluminum ones they offer now but different material. These will be more about function than bling factor I think. ;)

How many HP do these add compared to the stock lugs?

BigFatFlip 07-03-2013 08:12 PM

Great, now I'm looking at wheels again to find an excuse to get lug nuts...

What's the approximate timeframe for these? Count me in if we can expect them by the end of the month. :D
