Nice post! Good to have the official say from the Aussie market. I'm leaning towards High Grade more and more... I love gadgets. =P

Some of these could be dealer options pretty easily. I can see the bigger wheels, aluminium bits, etc, being a common dealer upgrade along with floormats.

Pretty disappointed that these made it into the standard grade:
Cruise Control
6.1" Display Audio

These are extra costs that should have been cut. I don't need a big display for my audio.

That audio better come with a av input or I will be demanding one without it lol
Cruise controll, well I got lazy thanks to the 8 and it's cruise controll, now I hate driving long distances without it :p also keeps me from speeding lol

70NYD, do you mean USB/AUX or did you actually want to add a DVD player or something?

Problem I have with them adding things like cruise control, etc, is that they're relatively cheap to the manufacturer, but they add them on to match other cars in that price class (or give them advantage in the price class). I guess it's just getting away from that "make it as cheap as possible without skimping out on the mechanical/build quality" mentality that I was hoping for. The majority of people don't need cruise control, so having it as standard on a base model seems like a price justification thing to me.

Leaning towards a base model... will have to do a few upgrades myself if I can't get them dealer fitted.

I found it interesting in this document that they used a picture Beau Yates' AE86 when it was silver and in it's Team Peer guise, not a more recent picture of it white and red in TRD livery......

Hah, I know, I noticed that too! It's not like he's got a bad relationship with them either, he's driving a TRD stickered RA40 now.

We cant expect Toyota Aus to be up to date with anything can we!!

Nardi330 03-11-2012 08:11 AM

They probably didn't spend a lot of time on this as its only meant for internal use.

My local Toyota dealer rang me and asked me to come in and look at the ft86 brochure.
I was keen to choose the blue paint and asked about the codes for interior trim.
He said that he thinks just one red accented trim is available.
Well it just so happens that red does not float my boat and I won't order one until trim spec and price are setn in concrete.
Also Subaru aus have no info on BRZ.
confused!

Yea its like a top secret at Subaru. As if they want to continue to preserve that AWD slogan. If the car doesn't sell well for Subaru Australia, they have no one to blame but Subaru...

Aux in for video? Like with RCA cables? Or an iPhone jack?
I'd be really happy with USB audio playback. I use it in my car right now. Nothing beats it!
