I just got off the phone with the receptionist at Carter's. She said that the BRZ hadn't arrived yet. The dealer I've spoken with had the day off, so I asked her if she knew when it would come in. She said she 'heard' it would be there on the 21st.
I live 25 miles North of Carter's and can't exactly just drop by. So if anybody hears any news, let us know.
Has anyone heard of any other dealer's in the area getting this car in?

No. When I spoke to the sales guy at Carter, he said they were getting it first then it would be off to Chaplins, Walkers, etc. Of course, that may have been salesman fluff, but I think Carter is getting the largest number in the NW area so it may make sense that they get it first.

I was told that the car will arrive later than expected. We will probably be able see it later tomorrow or early Wednesday.

Tainen 03-20-2012 02:45 PM

Yep, same story as all of you, it didn't arrive last night. Joe is going to call me as soon as it's in...

I talked to Walkers, they are expecting it next week, after it goes to carters and chaplins.

e46m3 03-20-2012 05:59 PM

Just got a email saying it's there

PSound 03-20-2012 06:08 PM

It's there in red. Hopefully they wash it cause it is pretty messy right now.

Pics to follow.

Dark 03-20-2012 06:13 PM

I will be there at about 3 with my dad.

FYI, Magic Scion is taking orders but they also do not have any new info.

Just use their website to get in contact with Storm and he can get you on the list (1 on list so far).

Tainen 03-20-2012 07:01 PM

on my way. should be there around 4pm.

PSound 03-20-2012 07:58 PM

FYI: Chaplin's Subaru states they are taking orders (state there will be a limited amount released) and as such are charging $1000 over MSRP.

Smokinbuffalo 03-21-2012 01:16 AM

Thank you PSound. I can't wait to see it tomorrow.
:thanks:

Dark 03-21-2012 01:23 AM

Saw it. The interior material in the front is fine for a 25K car, but at the back, the material used is pretty cheap. Didn't expect Lexus grade though. Maybe they are trying to make it feel expensive at the front only because driver is the one who buys the car.

Tainen 03-21-2012 04:09 PM

Hey Dark,

are you the guy thats first in line at Carter?

Crashoverride 03-21-2012 06:12 PM

Went down to Carter today, and all I have to say is Wings is right on the money, big but small, and to be honest the rearend is just as wide as my supraTT was looks like ALOT of room for what ever you want to throw in the engine bay, a super charger\ turbo shouldn't be an issue if you route everything correctly, seating was AWESOME, there was some guys down there from the forum adn we all cramed into it 4 people.... leg room in back adn leg room in front, over all not bad, the gauges were perfect the drivers "feel" felt better than my supra which was a suprise, a slight drop, 18 rims and a nice "kit" should make this thing look amazing. grandted it was a prem edition, it still looked good.... the tail lights on the other hand.... black would have been better instead of chrome. Over all I give it a 9 out of 10 for "feel".

Smokinbuffalo 03-22-2012 02:24 AM

I took the wife to see the BRZ today. She thinks it looks better in person. I agree, and it looks damn sexy in red. There is a little orange peel in the paint I hope they iron out in production. Too bad it is was an automatic, I wanted to try the clutch pedal.
While I was there I learned something cool about trade-ins. If a Toyota dealership makes a better offer on my tC than the Subaru dealers I can use a 'buy bid'. That's where I get the Toyota dealer to give me a written quote, or buy bid. The Subaru dealer will use the value on the buy bid as my trade-in value. It works out like a price match, but they actually sell the car to the Toyota dealer. This allows me shop around my trade-in, and still get the trade-in tax credit. That tax credit should be worth several hundred dollars for my car.

Regardign the 'buy bid', another thing you can do is to find a buyer yourself and let the buyer get the car thru dealership where you are purchasing your BRZ/FRS. that way you can get better trade in value for your car.

racerkyo 03-23-2012 12:23 PM

I went to carter when they had the brz and i loved it. i placed a pre order for a black manual premium with no options. i think i'm #13

brianbot5000 03-24-2012 01:38 AM

For those who placed an order - did you request that they NOT drill holes for the front plates? I personally requested that, and they told me to remind them periodically as we get closer to delivery time and they'll try to intercept the car before a mechanic can get to it, but no guarantees. You might want to do the same...in fact, just tell them not to drill ANY of the BRZs. :) Not sure why that's so difficult for them to keep track of...

I didn't ask them not to drill holes, but I should. The Toyota dealership drilled holes in my tC's front bumper because I forgot to ask them not too.
I hope the dealer doesn't paint their name on the trunk. I hate when they do that, it's vandalism.

Tainen 03-26-2012 05:59 PM

so the car is at Chaplins today, tomorrow it will be at Mike Scarff in Auburn thru thursday. Walkers says they get it on the 5th. I'm betting titus gets it in between.

Crashoverride 03-27-2012 03:35 PM

Damn it I want the FR-S to hit show rooms.

Darn waiting game!!

I guess BRZ gets one to tour dealerships and we to be patient...

First 86 is said for May, then June for general release....

I can't wait :party0030:

RogerCarr_TOK 04-29-2012 12:05 AM

FYI, Scion of Kirkland has started a policy that no Scions will have holes drilled for the front plate unless requested at delivery

Epic! That's the WAY to do it.

Very nice! Perhaps you could talk to the folks at Carter Subaru about that?? :)

RogerCarr_TOK 04-30-2012 02:53 PM

But that would be HELPING the competition. See, now you have a reason to pull your BRZ deposit and get an FR-S instead :)

Wow, this shocked me a little. One of the basic values of Scion is their Pure Pricing and to allow dealers to charge an additional "market adjustment" seems just wrong. In fact, one of the reasons that I plunked down the deposit on the FR-S was because I knew I wouldn't have to worry about negotiating the purchase price. I'm still confident that I won't at Gresham Scion, but to think that others might have to...

Lots of discussions on this here (just do a search for "Pure Pricing"). Bottom line, most dealers charge MSRP, but as long as they advertise and post the price, then charge it to everyone that walks in the door, the dealers can set their own price higher or lower than MSRP.

RogerCarr_TOK 05-19-2012 12:37 AM

^ yep that's how it works. It's still no negotiation, just whatever the dealership decides to do.

Hanson Subaru Update 5/20/12....
General BRZ info/availability= NO CLUE!

Lol The sales floor wouldn't even take pre-orders..smh
He went so far as to tell me that the system would cancel any order out if they entered it.
So yeah, leave Hanson Subaru off your search radar for now. Time to make some calls up North tomorrow. Any suggestions other than what's been posted so far?

RogerCarr_TOK 05-26-2012 02:49 PM

Just an update. We've still got spots available on our next allocation of FR-S' so I would estimate a Mid-late July delivery with that.

2 unclaimed BRZs in WRB & SWP in Subaru of Kirkland if anyone is interested

Tainen 08-06-2012 01:03 PM

1 red MT Premium at Carter... call Joe Spitz, he's the man, and has sold many of these to enthusiasts. MSRP

Too bad they charge a $3k markup. :bonk::thumbdown::thumbdown:

We currently have a $3000 mark up on these vehicles. They are very tough to come by.

This topic was primarily for before the BRZ/FR-S sales date. To make it more relevant I have started a new topic for posting 86s that are spotted for sale on dealer lots. The new topic is located here:
