Perfect Kids Car Seat for BRZ / FRS

After a lot of research I've found and bought what I think is one of the best kids car seat options available on many levels for the twins.

I was looking for something that was narrow, matched (as best as possible) the aesthetics of the car, easily fit in the recessed rear seat and was a convertible seat so it could be used for a while.

Was seriously considering the Clek Foonf Drift because it's hands down the best looking car seat available but it is very expensive and I would have to get something else as soon as they were over 65lbs

The Clek Oobr Drift was a slightly cheaper option but my kids aren't big enough to use a booster.

The Diono Radian R100 was also a consideration because it has a nifty folding feature but is not a very attractive car seat to me. It is also not very affordable.

So what did I end up purchasing? Behold the Harmony 360 Defender sold at Walmart...

- 17.5 inches wide (the narrowest seats I can find were 17")
- tapered bottom (fits with plenty of space in the back)
- handle kids 22-110lbs so you can use it for a long time
- angle is adjustable through a worm screw type assembly so you can set the exact angle
- $100 bucks

Wished it was all black with red trim, but the black, stone and red trim looks fine in the car. I'll have to take some pics of the seat in context.

I bought the Clek Oobr Drift, bc, uh, drift! :D

(plus it blends in well - doesn't look like you have a car seat in back, and the seat is low so your kid's head isn't up near the rear window. But there's other options as you have discovered - and that one from Walmart doesn't look half bad!)

I'm a fan of Clek as well... I have one of their backless boosters for my daughter. I probably had her in it a bit early but I always felt she was well protected, safe, and comfortable.

I use a Recaro Pro Booster for my 5 year old. Fits perfectly and is easy to remove/install since it's just a booster.

Graco Nautilus at Target $150. Fits Great, matches interior exactly, 20-100 lbs, forward facing only. 2 cupholders. Daughter likes it. Has a headrest that is red and black like the flairs on the front seats for bigger kids, not in this picture. Seems like it was made for the FRS. My 16 month old daughter, my wife, and myself all fit fine. My wife is just over 5' though. This is a night time pic with flash. It really does look perfect in the backseat.

Just some advice, but you really should still have a 16 month old in a rear facing car seat. Their necks are not strong enough to support their heads in a collision while in a forward facing seat. The new AAP guidelines actually suggest keeping them rear facing for as long as possible or at least the age of 2 unless they outgrow the height/weight specifications of the rear facing seat.. We kept both our girls rear facing until they were around 2 1/2 years old.

Appreciate the advice but, I have read all of the recommendations and our daughter is well within height weight limits. She was holding her head up at birth, doing pretty much everything long before she was supposed to including walking at 9 months. She doesn't really fit in a rear facing seat without her legs being bunched up. We feel comfortable with her in a forward facing seat. Don't really understand how they come to those conclusions in the first place. If you get rear ended with a rear facing seat the inertia would be the same as if you had a head on with a forward facing seat. Given that I watch the road like a hawk when my daughter is with me I tend to worry more about being rear ended than anything else. Anyway, was just trying to share some info.
