It looks a little Hyundai ish...I like the grille though.

Looks better than I ever expected...especially when recalling the last-gen A-class [*barf!*] This is still FWD, right?

The rear end reminds me of the current Impreza hatch, and the aggressive bodyside lines remind me of the Mazda5.

I much prefer the new Audi A3.

Of course. Not even "old greg" is old enough to be anywhere near the target demo of any M-B. ;) :D :happy0180:

Mercedes is pretty lost in its lineup right now. Most of their demographic is on the verge of death. They're the German equivalent of Buick, albeit more affluent and snobby with little regard for aesthetic competence. The A-class appears to be an attempt for M-B to gain traction in the younger-than-death-bed generations. It'll likely be a flop here in the U.S. without a significant [and brilliant] marketing push and a surprisingly affordable price. IMO their easiest market would be 1st-gen MINI owners looking to trade fun for status without totally giving up on life by buying an E-class.

Oh, I don't know, I wouldn't mind a C63 AMG Black Edition. :D

i dont see too much of a hyundai, but I do hope this car can start in the 30s to make it affordable for an entry level luxury car

They should probably do what BMW did with Mini with their Smart brand. Upscale it a bit and go for youth with that.

Wow, that interior is nice!!

chulooz 03-06-2012 02:28 PM

The interior is certainly eye-catching (Nav screen setup is just plopped in though). I'd have to see it in person to get the exterior dimensions in context, some of those pictures make it look like a squished R class.

They are most certainly not the German equivalent to Buick, thats a joke.

If they ever SELL this new A-class here ... it'll go against the Audi A3
and maybe the fully loaded Autoban pkg GTI... since its in the FWD segment.
Prices should start in the LOW 30s
