After a few months of street and track driving I decided it was time for better brakes and grippier tires.

After some research on the forum, especially with the great summary thread by DarrenDriven, I narrowed it down to Enkei PF01.

The rims looks ok to me but main reason was weight and clearance for StopTech big brake kit. The front rotor (if you choose the larger one) is 355x32mm and many 18 inch rims will not clear them.

For tires I went with Hankook Ventus R-S3 225/40ZR-18. They have good grip and have survived a couple of warm track days without too much wear and tear. Also seems to have enough thread to be safe on a rainy day.

This combination keeps overal diameter rather close to stock which keep the speedometer accurate. Weight is slightly lower than stock which is good considering the wider thread.

Ride and noise level was not worse than stock as far as I can tell. The ride becomes a little harsher over potholes due to lower profile tires but not too bad.

Track (or spirited street) driving is much improved. Tons more grip and especially turn in. Due to higher lateral grip it brakes away a little more violently but still manageable. With warm tires the grip is more than enough for this car and bordering on too much to allow proper throttle steer with the stock engine.

45mm offset, 5.94" backspacing

Looks awesome! Front and rear calipers/rotors look mean!

I love these wheels.
38 or 45 offset?

More important - where did you get them in black. I looked for ages and they were special order only and no-one had them. Silver was as common as.

Yeah, we need the offset!
