brighter fog light bulb for BRZ?

can anyone recommend a brighter fog light bulb for the BRZ that i can just plug it in with minimal work required?
I put yellow overlay on my fog lens and noticed that the stalk light bulb doesn't shine through enough. I need a brighter bulb. thanks

You're kinda out of luck with the stock housing. If you really want them functional, I'd recommend either upgrading to the Outback foglights which use real headlight bulbs, or Hella 3" aftermarket replacement fogs.

I went with this setup. Nice and bright

Fog assembly
I'm using the 2010-2012 Outback fog lights, they have a glass front and use the H11 bulb.

Wiring adapter for H11 so they are plug and play..no cutting.

I'm surprised that Subaru took so little time to match the color of the fog lights to the other lights. Other other lights are bright white LED's and then we have very red looking (by comparison) 20th century technology for fogs. It's something I've noticed, made a mental note to change, but haven't taken any action.

I'm assuming that there aren't any drop-in LED replacements?

LED Fog Light Bulb at Diode Dynamics. Just pick up their Stage 2 option and you should be good.

Red? Are you color blind? They're yellow.

The Stage 2 bulbs are supposed to be much brighter than factory lights. They have a money back guarantee.

are you referring to their LED fog light bulb? is it plug and play? I heard from my dealer that installing LED bulbs can mess up electrical system.

Skippman 06-30-2013 12:49 AM

Yes, it is plug and play. The only thing that might mess up electrically when using LED bulbs is something called hyper blinking. This occurs when you replace the turn signals without also replacing the relay. Take a look at Diode Dynamics or any other LED light retailers web site on here and you will see installation instructions and videos.

I do not work for Diode Dynamics or am affiliated with them in any way. Just attempting to present you a reasonable cost solution.

From Diode Dynamics website.

"Please note that LED fog lights are for cosmetic purposes only, and will not project light in the same way that the factory bulbs do. Your car will look great at night, but if you are looking for higher output, we strongly recommend using an HID conversion.

These bulbs are made up of a quality plastic connector to slide right into the plug, as well as high durability terminals. A load resistor is embedded to prevent blowing the LEDs from voltage surge, and a diode is implanted to protect the LEDs from reverse polarity."
