Question for BRZ and GT-87 hps?

Hi, i am new to this forum, so please excuse me if i post this in the wrong place.
But i have been looking into these 2 cars and they have the same engines which is about only 200 Hp?

I read that the BRZ will have a STI package which gives gets it to 300 Hp? is this true? if so are they going to do the same for the GT? I really would like to know this because i find 200 HP to be really slow.

Thanks in advance.

Nope, there is no package available from sti that will increase HP in any way.

They have released a sample car with weight reduction but as far as I have heard there is no current plan for STI to make a package to give the car 100 extra horsepower.

If that's what you're looking for this honestly is probably not the car for you. There are lots of better options out there with a lot more HP for around the same price.

There are no released plans to have a 300hp model or turbo model. This car is light enough that it is fast enough with 200hp, look at the Elise with 189 hp. If you want a powerful car get a Camaro, the 86 is made for fun

The gt87 has 0 horsepower because it doesn't exist.

Caterham 7 CSR 200:

0-60 mph: 3.7 seconds

It's all relative :burnrubber:

Do you really find 200 hp slow or is it just lower than many competitors? The
Miata, a perennial handling favorite among automotive journalists has a lot less, but it is still regarded as one heck of a fun car.

the Elise weighs almost 1000 lbs less and has more torque.

Its crazy to think that more power in this car will diminish it in any way.

I don't think anyone is insinuating that adding power to this platform will ruin the car, but this car was created with balance in mind. In a 2700lb production street car 200hp is the perfect formula. Any more and you're wasting horsepower, you can only use so much on the street.

I had an 08 335i and honestly one of the things that I disliked about it the most was when you would ring it out through 2nd you're already breaking the speed limit...what's the point of having a car with so much power when you can't have fun using it every day without fear of losing your license?

That's the point of this car, usable power for the true enthusiast. If you can't accept that then go buy something else. I feel that anyone who knows what true driving enjoyment is about will understand this car. People who are all about status and numbers will be disappointed. I love it, it makes it easy to pick out the people who...yeah nvm.
