I am going to Thailand next week! Backpacking! First time in Asia/ out of Europe! :happyanim:

Any insider tips/ advices/ suggetions?

Don't carry a lot of money or bring valuable stuff with you. This tip apply to anywhere in Southeast Asia + China and India.
Visit the beach (Pataya? I think). :D

Haven't been. But if you see a girl at the club make sure she is a real girl and not a dude.

Eat some good Thai curry while there.

Pattaya beach... been there. There were 60 year old Swedish woman boobs everywhere. Ewwwww.

Don't smoke ANYTHING.

If you are not part of the GLBT Community learn how to say (phonetically) :My ow guh'toy (last part say fast...like a guttural noise)

It means 'I'm not gay, no ladyboys'

Have fun! just be careful when you buy things, if you have a Thai friend with you that your close too. Have them buy things for you instead, if they see a foreigner they usually charge more. This is for the markets, you should be ok in the big mall. That's a 'Should" lol otherwise it's nice be careful of the water you drink check if it's clean and get mosquito repellant!

They were just hanging out in the open...I couldn't explain it. I guess it isn't fashionable to have tops on the tatas.

We want to travel from Bangkok to Chiang Mai to Phuket to Koh Samui and back to Bangkok!

Get a cheap mobile ,don't take an expensive iPhone s it will be inviting to robbers
Cheap watch and dress down ,no need to impress in that county your wealth as your more likely to get ripped off ,pick pocketed
And take 2 photocopies of your passport and bank cards etc

And the women are beautiful and will love you long time if you let them
Don't get too drunk though

I agree w/ what everybody is saying. It is especially important not to wear "brand" clothing and items because they aren't afraid to rob you.

Also a word of warning, everything you have ever heard about "ping-pong shows" is completely true. What has been seen cannot be un-seen.
