Throttle Blip, and other features?
I read in a review that the Automatic trans will have an auto throttle blip on downshifts - any idea if the manual will have this too? (I've not mastered heel/toe downshifts in 20 driving years, it's not going to happen - hahaha.)
No talk of launch control or flat foot shifting, right? (no interest in those) |
It's a Traditional Manual, the same kind in the S2k and many others, so no Throttle blip. The Automatic is based of an IS auto it has the the blip, but no system like the 370Z that's a Nissan only think at the moment with the Manual they have.

I hope it doesn't. I personally like blipping the throttle myself and to successful do it brings a small grin to my face. The 370z electronic method is one step of robbing the manual experience IMHO. Though I'm a purist of
Course. |

Btw, who do I need to speak with to be bumped up a class? I like to drive flat-out. ;)

Actually it shifted better at that point than my Subaru did at 20,000 mile. :mad0260: Man I can't wait to rid my self of this car. |
blip on auto is cool.....i've driven the current IS several times and don't recall a blip on the downshifts...though it's entirely possible i just don't remember..:D

But I actually like the technology because it always perfectly rev-matches your gears for the smoothest shifts and better reliability. Heel and toe may be fun but you can't always get it right unless your the Stig or something. |
